Guest guest
MTV launched it's stand up for your rights last night with a movie about the murder of Mathew Shepard a gay college student in Wyoming. Afterwards, it was followed by 17 hours of written stories of hate crimes committed against people in the U.S. based on gender, transgender, race, disability, and sexual orientation. This is part of a year long campaign to fight discrimination on all fronts. I didn't watch the whole seventeen hours of stories but wow, what a way to reach young people. For more information you can check out the site at http://mtv.com/. Karin
Guest guest
LPA was contacted by MTV to participate in this campaign. Some of our members have been interviewed by MTV for a program called " When Pop Culture Attacks, " part of Fight for Your Rights: End Discrimination, MTV's year-long anti-discrimination campaign. I'll keep you posted when it's expected to air.
