You too, , pain free! I think the arthritis does affect the teeth. I

have always taken very good care of my teeth and it seems like overnight they

started falling apart. I need to find a dentist. THAT is going to be a chore.

Because I am on SSI and SS, no one wants to accept the medical I have so it

makes it a nightmare trying to find dentist. The last dentist I had that took

me had equipment from the stone ages! When he was drilling my tooth, the

drill was smoking! That worried me. I thought it might blow up in my mouth!

But he was a really cool dentist. He knew how hard it was on my jaw and

scheduled me in for the time of 2 patients, and was so patient with me when I

needed to rest my jaw. He retired. Sigh.

Dear Rainy-Sue:

I don't know where you live, but if you live near a large city you might be

able to find a Dental School in a Medical School. That is where I have been

going. They have been doing a very good job on my teeth and the cost is a

lot less. You usually don't have dental students work on your teeth it is

usually an instructor or an instructor with a student. Believe me I think

they are pretty good. I go to the Dental School in Newark, NJ. Look into

finding one. You would be surprised the work is pretty good.

Sincerely,

I see my doc at OHSU, that is a med school, so I was going to look into that

there. I was also born there. I have been joking, I will probably die there,

too! LOL Since it seems to be my home.

A great dentist tip:  Have your dentist put the heavy lead apron on your child, regardless of what work they're doing.  The weight of it will help your child feel calm, like a deep pressure hug.  Your child may feel constricted by it covering her arms, initially; if so just put it over her lap and legs to start.

Not sure what part of town you are in.. but on the west/south side .. we have found Bay Pediatric Dentistry in Bay Village (440) 892-5556 as well as Dr Arlene Coloma (440) 878-1200 who has offices in both Strongsville and I believe Brecksville to be wonderful with special needs children.
