Delaine,

I'm wondering about your diet. Could you share a little of what or should I

say how you eat. You mentioned alot of eggs and chicken, how are they

cooked/prepared. I am interested in starting something to help with this

stiffness but get so bored eating the same things all the time. It's

interesting that you are on Arava. I lost about 20lbs while on arava for 2

months and I think Rainy Sue said she lost weight with Arava also. I could

be mistaking about Rainy though. I think that's who said they did. Anyway,

Arava bothered my liver so had to go off, you are having liver tests done

right? I told my MD that it was a great diet pill, I just wasn't that hungry

on it!!! Plus it did help with swelling. Oh well, the remicade and Mtx is

helping, so I am grateful for that.

I hope it's not too much trouble for me to pick your brain, just need some

direction.

Thanks

Barb in CA

I've had cold hands and feet since first grade. In the first grade, no

one

wanted to dance with me because my hands were too cold.

My mother is one of 9 children. At Christmas, I met with several of my

cousins and compared health problems. We all have auto-immune problems

of some kind.

My mother said that my head smelled funny when I was a baby...so, maybe

I was just born with too much yeast in my body.

Both of my parents have horrible fungus under their toenails. I

developed

athletes foot sometime when I was a child. My mother told me that I got

it

by wearing my dad's shoes.

Also, when I was a child, my legs would hurt really badly at times. My

mom

would tell me that it was growing pains...now, I realize that it was

probably

Juvenile Arthritis. My grandmother had told my mother the same thing

when

she was young.

So, my RA is hereditary...or is it the fact that too much yeast is

hereditary.

My dad is 75 years old and says that he is cold all the time. He has

horrible

fungus on his nands as well as his feet. I think that it's yeast and

wish that he

would follow my advise about taking garlic and other anti-yeast

measures.

My hands and feet are so warm now that I can hardly believe it. Before

I

started this project to get rid of yeast, I wore sheep wool bedroom

slippers

all the time in tthe house (with a pair of socks on too.) Now, I live

in the

tropics...so that is very unusual.

I am fortunate to have longevity in my family...on both my mom & dad's

side of the family..however, I'm concerned about alzheimer because my

mom's dad and my dad's mother died with it.

In my reading, I've read that if one can't get rid of yeast, it could be

because

of mercury. And, too much mercury in the body could be the cause of

alzheimer. So, I'm going to get a hair test to determine if the reason

that I

can't get rid of yeast is because of too much mercury in the body. I'm

also

taking a urine test to determine how much vitamins that my body needs.

My diet is mostly proteins...I eat a lot of eggs & chicken and

vegetables.

I'm eating no sugar, bread, fruits. I continue to lose weight and

dropped 2

more pounds. I now weigh 120 compared to 155 a year ago.

As I'm 49 and have probably had the yeast in my body my whole life, it

may take several months to get rid of the yeast.

I'm sharing my findings with other family members...however, so many of

them

are just too stubborn to change their diet or do anything special. I

have a

brother 10 years younger than me that has arthritis in both knees really

badly.

He has a yeast problem but will not give up drinking beer or taking any

anti-yeast measures. My mom says that she hurts all the time and I'm

sure

that she does...but, she won't take garlic and says that she doesn't eat

much sugar. (But, she wears a size 20 dress...so she's eating or

drinking

something with sugar.)

a, did you take the test for yeast that I sent several months ago?

I'll

find it and resend it as it is so useful for figuring out if one has a

yeast problem.

Hi Delaine,

I find all you have been writing about with you diet so interesting. My

son just gave me an e-mail of a doctor who treats RA with vitamins. I am a

little leary to e-mail this doctor, I don't know him. I know my daughter

friend who is 19 has RA and I have been passing at lot of your ideas on to

her. It is funny my hands and feet are always cold. At my sons wedding

one of guest who was a doctor couldn't believe how cold my hands were and

it was in June. Keep sending all the diet information.

Delaine,

Did you read the article I sent in about the medicinal uses of vinegar?

Apple cider vinegar will cure toenail fungus. After posting it on the list,

one of our members tried it, and it is working! When she told her doctor

what she was doing, the doctor was very supportive and agreed that it works.

Apple cider vinegar has so many great uses. I'll repost it for our new

members.

Me Mom ,

With your problems right now, I wouldn't take anything, not even vitamins

without ALL of your doctors knowing and approving.

Saving the vitamin doctor for when your gall bladder is rectified will keep

them from complicating matters. I don't think I believe it is possible to

treat RA with just vitamins. I would be leery. DMARD's are the best we

have right now, and RA is to serious to go without the meds.

That's just my opinion.

Hi a,

I don't know if I sent this, my computer is doing funny stuff tonight. I

agree about the vitamins. I will e-mail this doctor so when my son ask me,

I can tell him I did. I am not taking anything unless my doctors know

about it first. My friends husband is a firm believer in vitamins, even

sells them part time. He is always buying them for me, but I never take

them. He is so nice and means well but I am a little afraid. They do have

me on just multi vitamins and since the doctor recommended them its okay

with me.

I hold the line there though. Thanks for the advise.
