Guest guest
This caught my eye and I am curious if this is true. When did this come about?? ~Rainy Sue > He said that federal law > now says you can't give narcotics long term, but that > he knows how much I'm hurting. >
Guest guest
Yea, I'd like to know, too. Anybody know anything on this? I think I'd die without my pain meds. Since long-term RA (is there such a thing as short term?) == long-term pain, I need long-term pain relief! LOL I'm playing with the words, but seriously I've been on narcotic pain relievers for a very long time and don't see an end in sight. a, You're usually up on this kind of stuff, any thoughts? Guest guest
What does the Federal Law consider long term? I to am curious about this cause and the rest of you can't not go without pain meds. Do you think your primary just doesn't want to give you the pain meds for a long period of time? 's Peds dr and rheumy and Plum agree that if he needs the pain meds he will have them cause hurting like he does only makes how he feels even worse. I would like to think that all drs think like that but alot of drs don't and won't prescribe pain meds for any reason other then for surgery. shelly
Guest guest
I could be wrong, but I think that Oxycontin and Oxycodone (Percocet) bare Schedule II narcotics and schedule II narcotics cannot have written refills on the script, nor can they be refilled by phone. You have to have a new script each time. I have run into this because when I have been on it in the past, my doctor would have to mail me a script since he is an hour and a half away. It could not be done by phone. Hydrocodone and codeine are schedule III. The rules are less strict for these and can have refills on the original script and can be called in by phone. This is just my thoughts and experience. Kim Brzowski kim@...
