Guest guest
nne, I don't know of anyone on it, but hopefully I am wrong and someone can give you some insight. If you need information about the drug, I would be happy to look it up for you. a ----- Original Message ----- From: <mridnurse@...> < egroups> Sent: Monday, January 15, 2001 7:35 PM Subject: [ ] Chloroquine > Hi all, > > I previously asked if anyone is on Chloroquine for RA, but didn't get an > answer. Guest guest
nne- Are you talking about hydroxychloroquine- also known as plaquenil I have found some relief from that drug in combination with prednisone. Warning it can cause some problems with diarhea - oh fun, huh?
Guest guest
Hi a, I have looked up this medication on www.rxlist.com and it can be used for rheumatoid arthritis, but is not FDA approved for that purpose. I had an allergic reaction to Plaquenil, but my rheumatologist wanted to see if I could tolerate this. So far I am, but it doesn't seem to be helping as much as the Plaquenil had. nne
Guest guest
nne, takes this med as well as many others and i would have to say that i don't know how it works all by itself but with the combation of his meds gives him a good " Cocktail " and he is doing well for the most part. He is able to ride his bike, swim, run and sometimes even play touch football which is more then he was able to do in the past. hope this helped a little, shelly and jesse
Guest guest
ne, Didn't mean to be rude, but I'm not on it and never have been. Just didn't want you to think that no one was paying attention to you. Tery - FL egroups wrote: > > Hi all, > > I previously asked if anyone is on Chloroquine for RA, but didn't get an > answer. Guest guest
Hi nne,I was on chloroquine along with gold injections many years ago and this combo worked very well. Unfortunately I had to come off the gold but stayed on chloroquine until my rheumy said I had been on it for 6 years and took me off it. I think it worked well for me and I had no side affects,he just said I had been on it too long. Sorry I can't be more help. Hugs June
