Alchol abuse ( amongst LP's) seperately of a conference is a real issue though

Guest guest
Didn't they have those at the Indianapolis convention ?????????? simple possible solution to underage drinking Everyone is concerned - legitimately - about underage drinking. I have a simple solution. Bracelets. Everyone that attends the conventions has to register correct? Why not have plastic bracelets available at the registration table. No proper ID - no bracelet. To make it easy only tag those that are over 21. That way the bartenders can easily see who can legally drink and who cannot. I say plastic so they won't disintergrate in the pool or shower. I also say bracelets instead of a stamp, because stamps can be washed off and are more obvious than a bracelet which during the day can be hidden by a watch or long sleeves (weather pending of course). Just a thought. This may help to eliminate the need of two dances and underage people obtaining drinks on their own. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
If adults are found out to be buying booze for kids let it be known way in advance that their LPA membership will be suspended for a year or be booted from the convention or some kind of harsh consequence. I think its simple. Make people accountable for there actions . It seems to me that a lot of time has been taking up on this drinking issue and kids being unsupervised at these conventions. It sounds like LPA has some core issues to look at before the next convention because just reading these last few threads instead of 2 dances how about looking into offering a 12 step program also. ----- > > What about the problem of adults buying drinks for minors? > > luthien > > === >
Guest guest
with all the time and space its taking up here, and the fact that it may be a problem at the next convention. It sounds like the problem has reached LPA Re: simple possible solution to underage > drinking > > > > If adults are found out to be buying booze for kids let it be > known way in > > advance that their LPA membership will be suspended for a year or > be booted > > from the convention or some kind of harsh consequence. > > I think its simple. Not to mention it is illegal. It really is shameful if this happens. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ** ><}}> ** ><}}> ** ><}}> *Ý* <{{>< ** <{{>< ** <{{>< ** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In God's Love & PeaceÝ This is a Day of New Beginnings! Guest guest
I think it's a great idea, too.... also add to it that NO drinks are to leave the party, that's it! If someone lost their bracelet, they could be carded again at the registration desk of the hotel, and that would be the only way to get a new one. No one would be admitted to the party without the bracelet. I like it, and I think the hotel would go the extra mile to hand out the bracelets, because as someone said, they want to protect themselves from a lawsuit.
