Guest guest
Hi a, Thank you for your response to my e-mail. I have a question for you. If I eliminate ALL dairy.. including cheeses.. what could I eat as protein for breakfast? Somehow beans and grains (which I know combine to make protein) nor chicken nor turkey seem appealing. I usually have cooked cereal with cheese in it, or cottage cheese and fruit and cereal or yogurt, etc., all of which are DAIRY. Sugar and bread type products are so much easier for me to eliminate. I am allergic to eggs and all seafood. (seem to have a problem with " see food " as well! ;-) !) You sure said a mouthful when you wrote: " No, nothing is ever simple. If it were, I think life would be boring. " Still, it would be nice for a SHORT PERIOD of time!!! I keep remembering what I learned in therapy.. K.I.S.S. (Keep it Simple Silly).. I guess it is easier to apply to some areas of our lives than others! God Bless you, my friend, elaine -----Original Message----- From: a A [mailto:aA@...] As far as the milk/sugar issue, there is only one way to find out if either is a trigger for you. hugs, a
Guest guest
Elaine, Being allergic to eggs and soy and cutting out all dairy really limits your breakfast choices of high protein foods. Have you ever tried rice milk? At 's suggestion I tried it and it's very good. Oatmeal or cream of rice hot cereals with the rice milk contain more protein than eggs (6g in an egg). A cup of rice milk and a half cup of oatmeal have 12 g of protein. A cup of Special K has 6g of protein without any milk. Yogurt has 9 grams per cup (Stoneyfield's) so that is a good source. Yogurt is the only dairy product I eat. The acidophilus very beneficial to my digestive track. Speaking of digestive tracks, my husband used to eat tums by the handful, but since he gave up meat, he no longer need them. He is allergic to dairy, so he doesn't have to give that up. That made it easier for me to give up dairy. hugs, a ----- Original Message ----- From: Elaine <elainer@...> < > Sent: Friday, February 02, 2001 7:22 AM Subject: RE: [ ] UPDATE from Elaine -> a > Hi a, > > Thank you for your response to my e-mail. > > I have a question for you.
