Guest guest
Dear Rysu: I can't believe this. I just wrote practically the same thing. What a coincidence!! I guess we both go back to the good old days with medical stuff. Have a good day and good health to you too. Sincerely, J.Colletti Anjillah@... Guest guest
, GMTA! (great minds think a like) How ya doing? I am well! =) I wrote about my experience with the liver biopsies bcs I really didn't find them horrible. I think I had some Novocain, but can't recall. I guess that shows how much it traumatized me! NOT. Personally? I'd rather have a liver biopsy than go to the dentist! TRUE story! I hate the dentist. It hurts my jaw sooo bad! I have arthritis in my jaw pretty bad. I think the worst part about the experience is the before part and dreading it like any other medical procedure. I wanted to share my experience on this for another reason. I didn't want anyone to be afraid when it comes time for them to get a liver biopsy. It really isn't as bad as all that. And I was 16 for my first one. A mere kid. And 21 for my second one. I just don't want one person's experience to scare the h*ll out of anyone who may need it in the future. It really is a piece of cake. Then you get waited on hand and foot the rest of the day by nurses! You get to lay in bed, watch TV, sleep, whatever. It is almost a day of vacation once the biopsy is done. ~Rainy Sue > Hi Everyone: > I read a few days ago about someone having a liver biopsy or just talking > about it. Guest guest
You are right Rainy-Sue the dentist is the worst. I am having such trouble with my teeth. I think it has to do with the arthritis. Sorry you have arthritis in your jaw. That doesn't sound like much fun. I have to go back and have 2 teeth pulled. They got bad practically over night. They said they are ready to blow up. I hate the dentist too. I cringe when I get in the chair. I'd rather go for a liver biopsy then have 2 teeth pulled. Well, you take care. Hope you have many pain free days too. Sincerely,
Guest guest
Hi Rainy and , Just wanted to bop in hear with my two cents...not to scare anyone, but when I had my liver biopsy last year it hurt really badly. maybe it had something to due with the fact that my liver was really inflammed, I don't know. was your liver biopsies done to check on the liver or was there something going on? Anyway, again, maybe it has to due with the fact that things always seem to go the opposite for me. I am one of those who seemed to always be sick as a child. But then it didn't help that my mother made us go to school unless we had a fever. I run 97.2 normally, so a 99 was a fever to me, even though it never was with Mom!! I finally got my MD's to realize that i didn't have to have a fever to be sick, both of my ears were so infected that my drums ruptured and my temp was only 98. Go figure. Guest guest
Hi Barb, I had mine bcs my first RD liked to torture me. I was on MTX and even though my labs were FINE, he insisted on having these done, JUST IN CASE. Nothing was going on. Once it was done, the biopsies, the tests were fine. I would guess yours hurt so badly bcs you were inflamed. Mine wasn't. I am sorry it hurt you so bad. Mine honestly didn't hurt. It could also be the doc that does the procedure as well. I had two different docs, and both were great. Though the 2nd doc was a jerk about not wanting Ryder in with me. Anyway, if I ever need another one, I won't be scared since I have had two previous experiences with it. I am also at a very low weight so they didn't have a lot of fatty tissue to go through to find my liver. I am sure that helps a lot. I am not saying you are over weight. I don't have a clue as to your weight! =) Just wanted you to know I wasn't making some remark to you about your weight. =) Thanks for sharing your experience. It really does help us all to know more than just one persons experience with a procedure. =) Happy Days! Guest guest
Hi Rainy, Hi Barb: My liver biopsy was done many years ago because I had hepatitis. My liver hurt because of that. But the biopsy wasn't that bad. It was done so quick and over before I had a chance to yell. LOL. Seriously it wasn't that bad. The liver pain I had from the hepatitis was like an ache. Not a real stabbing pain. I also had two kidney biopsies. Like I said I would have biopsy before having a tooth pulled. I have two bad teeth right now that the dentist said have to come out. However, I am treating them with homeopathy. Yesterday my jaw was swollen. I started using the homeopathy yesterday and today the swelling is down. I will do anything so I don't have to go to the dentist. Well, almost anything. LOL. Have a good day all. Sincerely,
