Thank you, Elly,

That is the 2nd plus I have heard this week for Outlook. hey hey! And today,

when going to view some jokes someone sent me, it came up to be viewed in

Outlook. I didn't even know I had it! So, now, I am looking into using it. I

am using the AOL one now, and have folders set up like you say. My problem is

I have over 20 megs of saved emails. I know this is a lot and don't know what

to do. Just grin and live with them? At current I have 6200+ emails saved.

Hey, that's 3 for Outlook Express! =) I need to figure out, now, how to get

my AOL mail using it. I am not quite sure how to set that up. Any takers?

I also do as you say, . I am constantly on a deleting spree! I have

folders set up for all my friends, mailings lists, RA, etc. Over 6200 emails

is a lot to go through, in the meantime, collecting more. I try to delete all

the ones I know I don't want as I get them. Sometimes, I don't have the time.

So, I guess Outlook has it. I just need to learn it. =)

Thanks Everyone!

Yes, that is what I am using. I am just looking for other options. I have all

the folders set up and all that. I am organized. My main question was what do

you keep, what do you save, do you print. etc. But I have also been wondering

about other mail programs, so that got mixed in, too. =)

I have Outlook Express and it allows me to set up folders, so I've got a

folder for RA articles, etc that i want to keep. I can also subdivide the

general RA folder into subfolders for more specific " filing " /organization!

Hope this helps!

As Elly does, Rainy Sue, I use Outlook Express, too. I have things arranged

in folders. I try not to save too much. Remember, the archives have

everything from February of 2000 on and they are searchable.

If a posts an article with a link that I want to save (and there are

LOTS of those), I just bookmark the link in Internet Explorer (which is the

browser I use). Please, Lord, don't ever let me lose my bookmarks! This

discussion is reminding me that now is a good time to backup those valuable

tidbits.

To know where to file the information, I ask myself why I am saving

something. For example, if it pertains to how RA affects the hands, I have a

" Hands " folder. If it is information on a particular medication, it goes

into my " Drugs " folder. I get very specific in many instances, so I can find

what I need quickly.

I've never printed out anything and filed it. The idea of creating more

paperwork in my house right now makes me shudder.

It also helps once in awhile to weed out old and useless stuff if you come

across it. If you wonder why you saved it in the first place, DELETE.

Sometimes when I go into a folder, I take a quick scan and see what I can

get rid of.

Happy organizing!

Doesn't AOL give you some type of filing system, Rainy? I don't use it (I

use MSN), but I can ask my expert children if nobody here can help you out.

I could also go take a look.

Make that 4! I am set up just like .

Outlook express is a great program. You can even create message rules and

have posts from people show up in different colors. My moms mail comes in

red, so I can't miss it. You can even create a rule so that when the mail

is downloaded, it goes right into a specific folder. It help keep things

organized.

Now, I like that!!! that your mail will go into specified folders. That is my

huge problem with getting disorganized now. I have to put everything I want

to keep in their special folder and that takes so much time! I must figure

out how to use this with AOL. =)

Thanks You Guys!

~Rainy Sue =)
