When Pendleton police officers arrived at Deb and Donna's Diner about 5 a.m. Saturday they found the bodies of 51-year-old Debra Aynes and 56-year-old in the kitchen area. Police said the murder-suicide occurred as the diner was opening. One waitress and one customer were inside at the time but neither was injured in the shootings in the town about 25 miles northeast of Indianapolis. Officers say and Aynes' relationship had recently ended. He entered the restaurant with two handguns, and without saying a word walked to the kitchen area, confronted Aynes and then shot and killed her before killing himself.
