Keep us posted on how he does with it CK. You may have read that we took the *meds* jump with Maddie. Thursday it will be 2 weeks, so probably too soon to notice anything. She's on .05 ml of risperdal at bedtime, and it does seem to help us get her down at night. Duff has been out of town the last two nights, so I didn't have him to help me in the morning. This morning, she actually came down to breakfast herself (with some coaxing) and got out of the tub herself!!!!! I have tried TONS of *tricks* in the past to get her out, and she just did it this morning!!!! Risperdal? Who knows!! Donna
Guest guest
Hi Gail, I haven't read it, but perhaps I should. Do you know when it was published, and is it still in print? Thank you for thinking of me. Ian is doing well. They had some concerns about his heart, of all things, because a few months ago he started complaining of chess pains when he was exercising. They've done some tests on him, and he seems to be fine. His heart just doesn't return to normal beating as quickly as it should, and no one seems to know why. Behaviorally, things are going well. Sort of. I just heard this morning that they've changed him back to the catapres patch after a couple of months on clonidine in pill form. This, in an attempt to smooth out his moods and behaviors. Guest guest
Hi CK!!!!!! The book, Precious Treasure the Story of was published by Emmaus Road in Stubenville, Ohio. A division of Catholics United for the Faith. A very religious book. Published in 2002. The extreme joy and sorrow she shares about her son living at a school is heart wrenching. But, there are so many stories that are like what is posted on the list. Jumping in pools, running away to another house to steal food, stripping and all the other things we all know so well. Many prayers that Ian's heart, moods and behaviors are not a continuing problem. The heart episode must have been very scary! Gail :-) << Hi Gail, I haven't read it, but perhaps I should. Guest guest
No, I haven't read the book. Did anyone read it? How is it? rebecca Has anyone read the book * Precious Treasure the Story of * by s? It's written by a Mother of an autistic boy. Some funny stories in there. Some I have read on this list many times. She writes letters to her son who is sent to a home because of his behaviors. Her letters are very insightful into the joys and heartaches of her journey. I have CK in my mind the whole time I'm reading. Guest guest
Understanding Physician-Pharmaceutical Industry Interactions: A Concise Guide (Paperback) by Shaili Jain (Author) I found this book link from a bioethics website. I was wondering if anyone read it and what they thought of it. The description boldly states that med students aren't educated about the nature of Big Pharma - physician relations and the medical and legal implications of their ignorance. And the author is a shrink!
