I ask only because in my families case we found that

they were all hypoglycemic. My wife, 2 daughters and a

son were on Prozac, Celexa, Paxil, and Paxil/Effexor.

They all experienced side effects, including my son

being arrested. He, Corey was found to be in

diminished capacity because of the abrupt

discontinuation of Paxil and a significant dose of

Effexor and released with time served and probation.

Corey still has no memory of that day or his arrest.

Amnesia is listed as a frequent adverse event for

Effexor. You will find it on page 38 under Nervous

system.

Hi there,

I started Prozac back when I was an out of control teenager. I wish

I had known about the ADD back then. It turns out this has been my

real issue.

I know many people don't believe in ADD but then I say, you haven't

been me for a day. I have 25 years of history that can substantiate

the ADD diagnosis. It would take forever to list everything here.

The proof of the diagnosis is in the results.

I've suffered from depression for just as long basically because of

the ADD symptoms that were not treated. Medicine is not the complete

answer but I will say that the day I started Adderall XR changed

everything.

So many people in my family have noticed the dramatic positive

change in me. Even the ones who don't believe in ADD, acknowledge

the difference. I am able to study now and have just passed the

first two parts of a very difficult certification. I have two more

to go.

I make sense when I talk now and don't talk as fast or change

subjects and lose everyone as much as I did before. People don't

roll their eyes at me or just walk away like they used to. I can

actually listen to conversations instead of drifting off and then

asking a question that was already covered.

My work has improved. Before Adderall, I couldn't get started on

anything and always waited until " crunch " time which is the

deadline. Now, without thinking about it I just start my audits and

they are completed accurately and completely.

My boss has very little questions now and makes very little changes.

Medicine is not the total answer though. I've changed my diet a

little but and incorporated running. I run about 10 miles per week.

I take Adderall breaks every other weekend and when I'm off of it,

I'm not as together.

Having said all of this, I wouldn't give children these medicines. I

would try other mechanisms first. Also, ADD is hard to diagnose in

kids, they are still developing and just may be a little more

distracted for other reasons like problems at home, or difficulty

with friends etc.

I've had so much testing through the years for all sorts of

conditions. My real condition is ADD w/low grade depression.
