Guest guest
I have to wonder what the influences on doctors were back then. I wonder if they were anymore humble, meaning back then, they knew then that there was more that they didn't know than what they already had learned. Today some doctors believe they are Gods, but that is ok. Let them think that as long as the plublic knows otherwise. The problem is some of todays psychiatrists can and will force their ideas upon us. Just because they went to school for about 10 years doesn't mean they learned anything and also there is not good scientific proof behind what they were taught. Now, I can not help but believe that " all " psychiatrists are not stupid. Some of them actually know the truth about psychiatry, meaning that a lot of it is garbage. Some of them realize that the brain is a very complex organ and they have only scratched the surface. Then there are the influences on what they were taught and how they practice. The biggest outside influence, I would say is money and then there is the psychiatrists own character that taints any science involved. It really astonishes me how a set of twins could go to the same school and learn the " same " thing and yet appose each other in a court room, debating the sanity of a person. This in itself proves that it is either the money or their own characters involved in their opinions. Pity the person on trial or the person they could lock up or drug up as far as justice goes. My intentions are to plead the fifth, if ever I am forced to be questioned by a psychiatrist. When you are forced to talk to a psychiatrist, he/she is the judge, jury and executioner. Please refer to the " FAIR USE NOTICE " regarding my intentions. john WHY GEORGE WASHINGTON SHOULD HAVE FIRED HIS DOCTOR (An excerpt from my new book, FIRE YOUR DOCTOR! " by DR. SAUL MD http://www.doctoryourself.com/fyd.html ) " General Washington was taken in the night (in December, 1799) with a sore throat. The 'bleeder' being sent for, he took from him 14 ounces of blood. The following morning, the family physician arrived, and proceeded to bleed him copiously, twice within a few hours, and again the same evening, giving him thereafter a dose of calomel (mercury). Next morning he was given another dose. The next day another physician was called in consultation, and the result was that they took an additional 32 ounces of blood from General Washington. There was no alleviation of the disease. Ten grains more of calomel were given, followed by a tartar emetic in large doses. To his extremities blisters were applied, and to his throat poultices. " " General Washington died. " (from the Pittsburgh Health Club Newsletter, July 31, 1931) Former First President Washington, the father of our country, died from a sore throat? No sir: he died from the treatment. Washington had the best scientific medical attention of his day. And? They bled him no fewer than five times in three days. Let's do the grisly arithmetic. The first bleeding removed 14 ounces; there were then three bleedings of unspecified quantity, collectively described as " copious " ; and then a final full quart was removed. Assuming that the three " copious " bleedings were also 14 ounces each, that is another 42 ounces lost. Adding up, we have: 14 + (14 x 3) + 32 = 88 Some 88 ounces of blood was taken from Washington. The human body contains about 10 units, that is to say 10 pints (5 quarts) of blood. 88 ounces is pretty close to 3 quarts, or nearly 6 units; that's well over half the blood in a person. Some estimates place Washington's total bleeding closer to 8 units. It doesn't take a conspiracy, nor does it require an assassin, to kill a great man. Stupidity will do it just as well. Guest guest
It is written in the Torah that all doctors should be condemned to hell. The Torah makes the distinction between doctors and healers. So this has been going on a long time. As far a psychiatry goes, in general, psychiatrists are the most misguided, unempathic, least enlightened people I have ever met. I excuse myself in that I never intended to practice psychiatry. The training was a vehicle to continue research on stress physiology. It is almost impossible to believe that psychiatrists are entirely handmaidens of insurance and drug companies. To the patients they act like they are Gods, but this is just a coverup for lack of opinions, lack of convictions, lack of morals. As human beings, psychiatrists are low life forms. When analysis was in vogue, the patient either had to agree with the analyst or they were in denial. Now the patient either agrees with the drug or they are bipolar. It is a game of heads I win tails you lose. Psychiatrists are highly vulnerable to state Medical Boards who do not condone current practice. Psychiatrists are required to provide warnings about possible side effects and treatment alternatives. This almost never happens. I like the Medical Boards in that they truly have the safety of the public in mind and are not bought off. Lawsuits are difficult. Complaints to the Medical Boards are simple. Each time a shrink prescribes without warning about suicide, withdrawal and (soon) permanant sexual dysfunction -- without citing the data that exercise, psychotherapy, or supplements etc are alternative treatments, they are in violation. You don't need damages to complain to the Medical Board. The only thing that psychiatrists respond to (besides advertising) is litigation, and in this regard I encourage more litigation and Medical Board complaints against psychiatrists. > > I have to wonder what the influences on doctors were back then.
Guest guest
I like the Medical Boards in > that they truly > have the safety of the public in mind and are not > bought off. > Lawsuits are difficult. Complaints to the Medical > Boards are simple. In our case, the board did NOTHING. My son was beaten up, in a state hospital, by another youth. He was taken to hospital, and he was sent back to the centre. The staff woke him up every two hours looking for signs of concusion. He was woken up at 6am, sent for a three hour trip to Baltimore city, where he was given a full psyc, eval. Dr never took into account the trauma of the evening before. Dr refused my phone calls. When I did talk to him he told me he got all information from the state( who was prosecuting Nick for taking a gun to school. His suicide attempt). We sent a subpeona to Dr , to answer his report in court. He did not show up. We reported his failure to follow the DSM guidelines. They found No fault.land is one of the worsed states for reporting doctors, in any field. It has also the worsed Juvinile Justice system. The state has been trying to fix it for years. DJS is not supposed to send anything to the school district without our permision, they sent Dr report. We now have to fight to get it removed for Nicks records. I do not believe the Medical board cares for the patient at all. Maggs. __________________________________________________

Guest guest
" When analysis was in vogue, the patient either had to agree with the analyst or they were in denial " That's true. There is definately an arrogance factor there. I guess there will always be problems when a person or profession comes btwn. the individual and his/her own mind.
