Mental Retardation (TDMHMR) convened national and state mental health

experts-consumers, family members, advocates, administrators, researchers, and

providers-to develop recommendations about how Texas will implement the goals of

the President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health. National leaders,

including Curie, the administrator of the Substance Abuse and Mental

Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and six commissioners of the New

Freedom Commission on Mental Health, explained the commission's goals and

recommendations for improving mental health services in the United States.

and TMAP.
