I have often thought that this has made him much like he is. I am no longer with his father because of this. I'm going to check into this more as there may be more there to look at for him. Guest guest
Sorry I haven't been able to answer you as quickly as I would have liked, but I've been very overwhelmed with just too much to do related to this experience. I knew about CCHR and even tried to reach them several times last Friday when this situation was just starting. I'm still trying to reach them. Even though I've got my son back, I've still got major problems. He's no better and in some ways worse. This way it's only a matter of time before someone gets him again and I don't know if he'll have a chance to get out of it the next time. Last fall he was arrested for hitting me and had a court appearance. This fall he was taken to a psych ward. I don't know what else can be done with him. It just goes on and on with him. Thanks for your e-mail. Merrie PS I agree. It sounds like communistic Russia or Nazi Germany. Unless you witnessed it, who would believe this could happen in America. It scares the hell out of me and then it makes me very angry. > Hi Merrie, > Wow, what a story! It sounds like something that would take place is > communistic Russia years ago! Guest guest
Hi Merrie, I just read your story. My son was 14 when he went on Prozac. I know what your life is like right now. The courts are not there to help you, for every doctor we found who said SSRI's are bad, the state found one to say the medication is safe. We had one doctor, at Shepard Pratt, tell me that every child in the center is on one SSRI or another. I fought him tooth and nail. He even said he wanted to try Nick on Zoloft, and then watch him. I told him it was my son not his experiment. If Nick went on the medication and deteriorated then the doctor would have a reason to keep Nick longer. Nick was attacked an beaten up at one hospital. He sometimes has flashbacks, but will not tell any doctor about them. He is afraid they will tell him he has Post traumatic Stress, the treatment for that is SSRI's. The last couple of years have not been easy. We all have to work hard, just to get through somedays. Try to hold on, know we are here for you, you and your son are not alone. Guest guest
Dear Maggs, Thanks for writing me. I'm going to answer in your e-mail. > Hi Merrie, > I just read your story. I know what your life is like right now. > The courts are not there to help you, for every > doctor we found who said SSRI's are bad, the state > found one to say the medication is safe. We had one > doctor, at Shepard Pratt, tell me that every child in > the center is on one SSRI or another. I fought him > tooth and nail. He even said he wanted to try Nick on > Zoloft, and then watch him. I told him it was my son > not his experiment. If Nick went on the medication and > deteriorated then the doctor would have a reason to > keep Nick longer. That's exactly what I thought. I knew that if they put my son on these drugs, the side effects would make them put him on more drugs, he would fall apart further and I would lose him. Basically, I knew they would kill him. How in the heck did your son end up on Prozac if you fought it so hard? I was surprised that I seemed to easily find doctors that didn't think my son should be put on Prozac. I thought they all thought he should have that. You're right about fighting it. I could have found 10,000 doctors against my son being on Prozac and it wouldn't have made any difference. This doctor told me he would have his way and he would give my son these drugs whether I liked it or not. What kind of Nazi tormenting doctor have we created? Where is Shepard Pratt? >Nick was attacked an beaten up at > one hospital. He sometimes has flashbacks, but will > not tell any doctor about them. He is afraid they will > tell him he has Post traumatic Stress, the treatment > for that is SSRI's. Oh, my my my..... I didn't know they gave it for post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. It seems they give these SSRI's for everything now. I'm just stunned at all the things they can give it for. It's a total money maker. Last night I became aware of my son's nightmares from last weekend. He woke up screaming about them. Yes, you guessed it. That psychiatrist was in them. Among other things, he said the fellow was coming at him with needles, trying to stab him in his heart and the door was blocked and he was up against a wall and couldn't get away from him. Pretty frightening. This fellow needs to be taken out. I know you know my feelings. > The last couple of years have not been easy. We all > have to work hard, just to get through somedays. Try > to hold on, know we are here for you, you and your son > are not alone. > Maggs. Thanks for writing me. When you see so much uproar from people about these drugs and you see the negative attention these drugs are getting, you know that people are becoming educated to this horrible situation. More and more people are going to do what I did this pass weekend--just refuse them. Still, though, there are people out there that think that the SSRI's fix OCD and other similiar problems. They say you have to take your 'meds' so you'll be able to function. What a sick joke that is. I'm glad to see there is support for us. At least we're not at the beginning stages when no one knew about the SSRI's. Merrie

Guest guest
The real problem is Doctors are getting lazy they can see many more clients if they just read reports and disspense medications and have other people most of which are not properly trained observe them. Gone is the day that a doctor spends actual time listening and really hearing what is being said. They just sit back shooting their Magic Bullets (SSRI) hoping to hit something. Just my opinion Wesley Pringle __________________________________________________
