Hi ulsf_73

Your messages are getting through to the group, it must be that you have opted (when you registered) to receive no emails and to read direct from the web. I have written to you privately to tell you what to do to change this option if this is the case. Before clicking SEND to any of your messages, please will you DELETE most of the message you are responding to and leave only a small portion. You can do this by holding your Mouse over the message you are responding to and highlighting what you want to delete, and then click DELETE. Also, delete other messages that might be attached, because it makes it really difficult and causes some frustration for members who have to scroll through all the stuff they have read before. If you are still experiencing problems, let us know.

I have just checked your membership details and I see that you HAVE opted to receive individual Emails, so there must be something wrong with your settings for receiving messages if you are not receiving any. Not sure what to suggest, somebody else may be able to help you on this one.

I have the same problem but it has nothing to do with my settings as there is another group I belong to where my mail does come through, yet all the others do not. I do not know why this is either, but my only suggestion is that if you want to see your message come through, then send yourself a copy of it at the same time (you can bcc it).

Hi,

Maybe removing yourself from the

group and then reapplying will sort it. Sometimes there can be a glitch.

It's a wonder you are still here.

Hello, My GP did tell me that she was amazed I wasnt in a coma when I

was 1st diagnosed although I didnt take much notice as I was so ill.

Do you think that maybe as I was left so long (as in my levels to go

so out of range) that its the reason why I am having such problems 8

years later? I rang my surgery today for my results, its odd as some

were back but not my thyroid function test. Just a quick question, I

had my CRP checked (for my arthritis) they like it under 5, and last

few months I was hovvering just out of range between 7-10 but in

December it was 17. Does CRP measure general inflammation in the body

or can it be specific? Could it be my thyroid - or whats left of it -

inflamed?

thank you

xx

Hi

I typed in "Candida Spit test in water" into Google Images, and came up with these pictures. http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en & q=candida+spit+test+in+water & btnG=Search+Images & gbv=2

Hope this helps, and anybody else who may be suffering with Candida and you have been recommended to do the Candida Spit Test, here are some pictures to show you what it should look like....or rather, does look like if you have Candida.

Hi ,

My blood was taken on Friday, tests back yesterday, Tuesday. The nurse

at my surgery told me I must just have gone in at the right time as

Thyroid tests usually take 10 days to 2 weeks to be done because they

are saved up into batches.

Very interesting, but what should it look like if you do not have candida? If it is stringy, if it floats or if it sinks to the bottom indicates you might have candida. What alternative is left if you do not have it.

If you don't have candida, the spit will stay on the top of the water and gradually disappear.

Hi ,

I had a TSH of 126 on diagnosis with the same reaction from my GP,

but when you have a baby you can't stop to be ill! I became ill about 3

months after my baby was born, so it came on quickly, as I had a good

pregnancy.

Thyroxine never really did too much for me, and after about 4 years I

started to deteriorate- of course its not your thyroid- look at your TSH!

But Armour and T3 (I take ridiculous amounts- 70mcg!)did their magic and now

I'm OK. I feel strongly that the 17 years on T4 alone have caused permanent

damage, which is why I have to take so much to 'get through'.

Hi.Yes I am saving for my surgery . I told myself I could not finance the whole thing, But if I worked hard enough to save half then I could finance the other half. That I could live with. I mapped out a plan on paper to see how long it would take me and boy when you do that it really comes to life!Chloe>> Is anyone...saving money for this surgery...to be lapbanded..in > Mexicali...I am currently saving..just want to see....so maybe someone > else might be in the same shoes...> > > Tama>

I am sure that most everyone has worried about where they were to get

the money. I am in the process of trying to figure it out myself but I

WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN ! I want it now but, I might have to wait awhile.

I think it is just a matter of are you ready.... and how bad do you

want to change your life, it took me three years to get to this point

now I am consumed with getting educated about my choices and how to

live after the surgury. So dont think you are the only one that has the

$ worry, you are not alone.

Hi Tama:

Good for you for saving money for the surgery. I didn't have the

patience for that. I used a 1 year ZERO interest credit line and will

pay it off this year. Good luck to you!

Hi my names kody. I'm from Warren,Texas and i've got heterochromia too.

I'm 16 years old, i've got one hazel eye and almost half a brown eye

and the rest is hazel like the other. But mine is different I guess.

When I was little it was only a little slit but now it has grown over

almost half of my iris. When I get older it'll fully grow over my iris

and since I have light colored hazel eyes it might actually turn red!

Hi ,

I know what you mean~ There was another kid in school who had a dark

brown eye, and a blue eye, but I'd never met anyone with the same

green/brown combination as myself. It's wonderful to see other people

with similar eyes, and the photo gallery is fun to view.

HI

We have another Val here so that we don't get confused, I hope you continue to call yourself . Welcome to our forum and I hope we can help you.

First, how long is it since you were diagnosed, and what medication are you taking right now, and when did you last have a thyroid function and an increase in your dose/

Can you post your last thyroid function test results together with the reference range for each test. Your doctor will let you have these. We can't relaly help0 unless we know what is happening there.

Sadly, not many sufferers with hypothyroidism can lose weight very easily until you get on the right dose of thyroid hormone replacement. Hypothyroidism means you have a very low metabolism, and because of that, you are unable to burn off any excess calories, no matter what diet you try. However there is light at the end of the tunnel, you will lose weight when you have reached the right dose for your body.

You need to ask your GP to test your ferritin (stored iron) to see if this is low. If so, you need to take some elemental iron such as Ferrous sulphate. this is a problem for many hypothyroid patients.

You might also wish to take the Adrenal and Candida Questionnaire that is in our Files to see whether you have these too, as they both go along with thyroid disease. Once these get treated, thyroid hormone replacement seems to work much better.

Let us have your blood results and we will take it from there.

Luv - Sheila

Hi ,

Welcome to the group. The double whammy of diabetes and thyroid

is not unique.

Docs tend to undermedicate thyroid conditions because they medicate to the

blood tests and ignore the poor patients symptoms- which scream

undermedication.

Can you share your last thyroid bloods together with the ranges ( ranges

tend to differ depending on lab)

The other common problem is medicating with Levothyroxine only when a

healthy thyroid produced more than one hormone. This levo ( T4)has to be

converted to T3 ( liothyronine) to be of any use in the body. A healthy

thyroid does produce some directly so giving only T4 strains the system

which can then fail- oftern leaving the patient with a low TSH and

depression and weight gain caused by lack of the right thyroid replacement.
