Not a sick joke sadly, wish it was.

I was talking to a friend here in town, we call him

Wheatgrass Alan as he supplies Austin with organic

wheatgrass. Alan was explaining that the US law views

corporations as individuals. This makes it hard to get

justice except in very bad cases and then only financial

punishment. the individuals within the corporations are

relatively immune from the law. Drug companies apparently

are fairly unphased from the repeatedly nasty products

they keep selling despite lawsuits.

Alan had seen a psychiatric type checklist for a sociopath

and had been demonstrated that certain companies fit the

list item by item. I'm sure you can think of a few.

Uncaring toward other's health and safety was one I remember

Alan mentioned.

When the bottom line is the only game for these companies

then all sorts of justifications can set to work, people are trying

to make a living and other far off considerations of people

outside their area can be forgotten or ignored.

The only thing that affects them is money. That's why tort reform

is pushed so hard. from this angle lawyers look pretty damn

good to me if they are ethical.

Re: profits over people

Unbelievable! I am looking for additional coverage on this but so far, no luck.

Is this some kind of sick joke that I've fallen for? If so, HA! HA! Verrrrry

funny, Jim! If not, OMG, what kind of beasts are these?
