Guest guest
I'm forwarding this at the request of fellow activist, Gene Burke. To all safe water advocates: Re: the EPA unions bold actions and our national campaign based on halting fluoridation. Please see the following Action Alert. And please sign the petition if you have not already done so. Thank you! Gene Burke CA point-person for the nationwide campaign to halt fluoridation; Santa ns for Safe Drinking Water Coalition http://www.smsdw.org Fluoride Action Network http://www.fluorideAction.net ________________________________________________________________________________\ __________________ We have an unprecedented opportunity to effect a national shift on the policy of water fluoridation. I urge your participation. On August 19, eleven EPA unions from across the U.S. issued a press release detailing their request that Congress enact a national moratorium on water fluoridation pending a full review of the science on its risks and benefits. They also jointly urged " EPA management to recognize fluoride as posing a serious risk of causing cancer in people. (Access their press release at: http://nteu280.org/Issues/Fluoride/Press%20Release.%20Fluoride.htm .) These actions followed the recent flap over suppression of the Harvard fluoridation-bone cancer study, all of which will be explored in a Time magazine article expected as early as next week. Meanwhile, the Protect Our Water Alliance (of which I am a founding member) has provided an online petition supporting the EPA unions' multiple requests, and we need as many Americans as possible to sign on, making a personal comment if you choose. Sign the petition at: http://petition.powalliance.org/ (sign even if you already wrote to your senators and representative about this) Urge others across the U.S. to sign on. Just click on the words " Help Spread the Petition, " and follow easy instructions. (Note: Organizations can sign on, too. Just scroll down below " View Signatures " and click on the link.) What better way to preempt a reintroduction of mandatory fluoridation in our next legislative session than to urge a national moratorium NOW!! Please support clean, safe water. Sign on today. And I'll get back to you about following through with more letters to Congress when the time is right.
