Guest guest
Hi Rainy, I have missed you, and you are right WHAT A MESS. Remicade in January so sooner. I now think if it had been the remicade I would be feeling better. I spoke to my primary and we have agreed that within three weeks things don't change, time for a new opinion. I agreed to this only because I plan on doing my own research to find the best GI doctor I can. Or I may take my daughter-in-law up on her recommendation of the doctor her father knows. My RA is terrible, I am really flaring. I want to start the anti-inflammatory drug back up. I think I should call the Rheumy and the GI doctor first. How have you been? Ever since I told the Rheumy about your success with remicade he ask about how it is going for you. So he gets an up date on me and you. I really hope I can go back to it, I need something. Hope you are having a good day. Me Mom ---------- > From: Rysu19@... > egroups > Subject: [ ] Me Mom > Date: Monday, December 04, 2000 2:52 PM > > Hi , > > Geez, what a mess. Guest guest
, How are you feeling? Are you tolerating food any better? Are you still flaring? Did you start taking the antinflammatories? I hope you are feeling better. a
Guest guest
Hi , I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. Please don't worry, I am okay. I am looking for a new doctor. I just don't like this GI doctor. I called my Rheumy to get my appointment for remicade and he is starting it at his office in January. So I called the hospital were I had it done before and they are completly booked up until later in January. They told me remicade is becoming so popular that they can not keep up with it. They are in the process of enlarging the area were they do the infusions. Being booked up was not what I wanted to hear. A part of me still thinks it was the remicade that caused the pancreatitis. I wanted to do the infusion right after Xmas, so if anything happened I would be okay by the time school starts on January 17. So back to my doctor I went, his nurse is going to call me next week to set everything up. So I am hoping to have the first infusion done by the 5th or 6th. I want to do at his office in case anything happens he will be right there. My diet is the same as it has been. I have gotten use to the Ensure, its not so bad. Today I tried vegetable soup, I just wish I wouldn't get so sick to my stomach. Anyway things are okay, I am anxious to get back to school. All the Xmas shopping is hard to do, we all know how that kicks in the fatigue and addition pain. Hope you and kids had a nice Thanksgiving, I was thinking about you. Guest guest
Hi . Yes this Christmas stuff knocks a lot out of me. I didn't do much decorating this year. I'm just to tired. We did one room instead of the normal entire downstairs. We didn't even put any outside lights up. This is the first year that we didn't. doesn't need to be climbing up ladders with his fragile back. It's just not worth it. I hope you find a GI doc soon. I think you should follow your instincts. When you other doctors don't get along with him, there is something wrong! I just want them to find the root of your problem and fix it! The holidays aren't the time to not be able to eat! a ----- Original Message ----- From: Valued Compaq Customer <ruf-caimi@...> < egroups> Sent: Tuesday, December 12, 2000 7:29 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Me Mom > Hi a, > As long as I don't eat I don't feel bad. Guest guest
, I haven't heard of RA causing pancreatis, although I guess it could be possible since it can attact other organs. Scleraderma and Lupus can cause it. a ----- Original Message ----- From: Valued Compaq Customer <ruf-caimi@...> < egroups> Sent: Tuesday, December 12, 2000 7:31 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Me Mom > a, > I forgot to ask you, if you have ever heard of RA causing pancreatitis. > The GI doctor tells me it can happen but it is so remote it is not even > funny. Guest guest
, I think I'll worry about you until you get the answers you need regarding your stomach problems. I'm wishing for a much more comfortable 2001 for you. Sorry that you can't get your Remicade infusion sooner. I think it's a good idea to have it done at your doctor's office. Both of you will probably be more comfortable with that. I know how much you want to return to school, but please take care of yourself and don't try to do too much before you are feeling better. The school will be there awaiting your return. The kids and I had a fine Thanksgiving, thank you. You were on my mind then, too (especially when I was eating). We are looking forward to Christmas. My NJ brother and his wife, and my NY sister and her family will be coming to town, so there will be a lot of visiting and laughing going on. I hope that the shopping and preparations don't wear you out and that you can feel well enough to enjoy yourself. Ask Santa for a good gastroenterologist for Christmas! I know you've been very good. ----- Original Message ----- From: " Valued Compaq Customer " <ruf-caimi@...> < egroups> Sent: Thursday, December 14, 2000 3:55 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Me Mom > Hi , > I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. Guest guest
Hi a, I'm sorry to take so long, not a great week-end. I'm glad I am not the only one not putting a lot of decorations up. When I worked for s Nursery, I loved to decorate, they use to send me too other stores to decorate them. It was a nice time. I find all the posts about RA and environment and chemicals interesting. Again when I worked for s we were constantly around chemicals, fertilizers, mulches all gardening stuff. I can remember people coming in and asking how could we stand the smell of all this stuff. The truth is we worked around it so much they we didn't notice it at all. Another things that has me thinking is the hot house we all walked through a hundred times a day was full of mold and mildrew. I remember one time one of the employees was going to call and find out if legally we had to work around it. It was so bad, it grew all over the walls. One time we had rats so bad in the store it wasn't even funny. I have never thought about all this until I was reading the post. I have to wonder if this didn't play a part in me developing RA. Hope you and are feeling better? Soon Xmas will be over with all the running around and stress. Have a good day. Guest guest
Hi , I am so sorry to take so long. I think I will be glad when Xmas is over. I love Christmas but it is just to much. I am looking for the new GI doctor, I don't think I will even keep the appointment I have for Jan. 2, with the current doctor. I am nervous about the remicade but I want to try it again. I know the RA is getting worse, I can feel it. I have been baking soon, it is just not Xmas to me if I don't bake. At least year I won't have to worry about eating the cookie batter, like I usually do. I'm glad you and the kids had a nice Thanksgiving, it all takes time to get use too. You will be busy for Christmas, don't tire yourself. At least the kids will be home and you can rest after the holidays. Guest guest
Hi , It never dawned on me when I working there, that it was so dangerous. The reason they put their chemicals outside is they are cheap and afraid they will get stolen. As I think back I am not sure what was worse the chemicals or the smelly hot house. Anyway that is all over with, I find it interesting though. I have been trying to bake and shop. Almost done but am I tired. All my family is coming Saturday for dinner, Sunday my daughter-in-law is doing the seven fish dinner. She did it last year and it was nice. My daughters want to go to midnight mass, Christmas Eve. Christmas my kids are coming for lunch and open gifts. lynn and Cherylynn don't want to open the gifts until their brothers get here. Sometime I think I must have done something right. Then it is to Grandmom's for dinner. Somehow I think the couch will be my friend for the next week. Good thing I like to read. I think everyone on this list is going to be very tired come Tuesday. I have been wondering were Esther and Carol are at. I hope everything is okay. Guest guest
Me Mom , You and I are quite a pair for late responding! No need to apologize, I surely understand just as you do. Working at a place like 's, I'm sure you LOVED to decorate. Whenever I got to craft stores, I get so many ideas, but unfortunately my ambition level isn't as high. I just got all the stuff to make a nice wreath, and it's still sitting in the bags. I keep hoping that the Christmas Elves would come here and make it for me Environmental issues are linked to AI diseases, and it surely wouldn't surprise me if it was the cause. Whenever our bodies are exposed to foreign particles, the immune system jumps in to the rescue. Since our planet is so toxic, it is hard to get away from toxins. Working in contaminated buildings is surely not very good for you. Whatever the cause, I just hope a cure is found for all of us. I feel better thanks. I just have a cold The first few days I felt rotten, but now I'm doing better. is still a mess. They found another herniated disc in his thoracic area. Tomorrow he goes back to the neurosurgeons to discuss options. I hope you are feeling better. I want to hear that you are eating again and not in pain! a ----- Original Message ----- From: Valued Compaq Customer <ruf-caimi@...> < egroups> Sent: Monday, December 18, 2000 2:47 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Me Mom > Hi a, > I'm sorry to take so long, not a great week-end.
