LOUIS (AP) -- Hundreds of workers at the nation's largest hospital laundry service are threatening to go on strike in three states this week. Nearly 600 employees at seven Textile Services plants have voted to walk off the job Thursday in California, New York and Texas. The company is based in suburban St. Louis. The union says the company has not consistently provided workers with vaccinations against hepatitis B, which is transmitted by blood. Most of the workers also make less than $10 an hour. A union official says most of the 1,000 employees at eight other company plants have pledged not to cross picket lines if strikers set up outside their sites. Company officials say they have a contingency plan to keep hospitals stocked with clean sheets and surgical linens.
