Paxil is derived from a substance called phenylpiperidine which is a KEY ingredient in ALL opioid medications. Every single drug that contains phenylpiperidine is on a Schedule II drug list IN EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. So how is it that Paxil is NOT addictive. That's the big Ha-Ha! IT IS ADDICTIVE!!! A heroin addict can kick horse in 7 - 10 days, but a Paxil addict will be lucky if they can jettison this monster monkey on their back in 6 - 8 months, if they're lucky. And I so love how addiction is not addiction but dependence, and that withdrawal is not withdrawal but discontinuation syndrome. Orwell must be laughing in his grave at the way they have twisted language to suit their nefarious agenda. Our language is so punctuated with euphemisms that we don't even understand what things really are and what they really mean anymore. If someone is trying to get off Paxil and they are crazy out of their mind with both psychological and physical symptoms that only taking MORE Paxil will relieve, THAT'S ADDICTION!!! It's not dependence. It's not discontinuation syndrome. IT'S WITHDRAWAL!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. And no matter how they flower up the language and downplay the severity of the symptoms, it's still addiction and it's still withdrawal. I'd like 5 minutes alone with the Dr. ph Goebbels of GSK who came up with this language. Now is when I wish I had a videotape of me crawling on my hands and knees while trying to get off Paxil, vomiting nonstop, feeling as though I were going to die. Amazing that just a few mgs of Paxilpoison relieved all of those symptoms. " Blind Reason " a novel of pharmaceutical intrigue Think your antidepressant is safe? Think again.
