~Off Topic~ How to make mobiles?

Hi Everyone,

I saw a mobile on TV the other day and thought, " I want to make one. " I was

wondering if anyone had any tips, or knew of any sites I could go to to get

started? Or if anyone here has made one. Etc. My main question is how to

start. As far as using a hanger, or other sturdy wires. Any tips? I know what

I want to put on the thing, I just need ideas on the base.

I would be appreciative of any tips!

Thank you!

Sounds like fun, Rainy Sue! I've made a few with the kids now and then for

school. Here are some sites:

Thank you, ! Somehow, I knew you'd be the first one to respond on this.

=) As soon as I get this wet towel off my head and my hair dried I will check

out these sites. My goal with this mobile is to add all those trinkets I have

shoved in drawers that I love but don't know what to do with. I thought this

would be a neat way for me to " see " them, and for them to not just be making

a junk drawer. Like earrings, that I lost one to, and beads and prisms,

charms, that sort of thing. And I want to make it so I can add to it when

things fall into my hands.

If it works out well, I might try to do one with the neighbor kids.

Hugs!

Thank you, a! I love you guys! I knew I could count on you all. I do want

you to know, I did look for sites myself before posting that message. I got

overwhelmed! I think it was the mood I was in. I didn't want you to think I

was being completely lazy, ;) and using you all as my search engine. hehe..

Rainy Sue:

Hope you did not take offense at my " off the cuff " humor yesterday regarding

making a mobile. I meant it to be funny. I think it is great that you are

doing this. I love mobiles too. Hate it when they get all tangled up

though. Are you making an X-mas mobile?

Hi & a,

I checked out the sites you sent me and they are marvelous! Not just for the

mobiles. I am thinking of making a bird feeder now, and origami boxes from

greeting cards. I have enjoyed these sites so much, that I sent the link to a

friend of mine whom I know will also enjoy these.

Thank you so much! The time you spent gathering these up for me was not

wasted!

Hugs & Love,

Rainy Sue

Hey :

I know the nicest guy on ASA. His name is . He is 50ish, lives in

DeKalb, Illinois, divorced with custody of a son who is maybe 8 or so. He is

a really really nice guy. He is originally from the Milwaukee area which is

where I grew up. That is why he and I talked alot on ASA. He does not have

RA but something similar and had back surgery this year. He works at the

University. Maybe, if you might be interested at all, go to ASA and see if

he posts. If not, conger him up and see if he answers. Ask Tery, she may

remember him......if she does, she will tell you too, I am sure, what a nice

guy he is. You can even tell him that Jeannette told you about him. I dare

you too!!!!!

Rainy Sue,

Here's one I found to make a butterfly mobile. I'm sure you can alter it to

make any kind you want! I hope it helps.

Sue,

You can use me for your search engine any day. I honestly don't mind.

I know how hard it is to find information when there is so much out there.

I'm glad we could find them for you and hope you have fun making them.
