the weather has been pretty funcky around mobile. its really cold at night

and then damp in the morning, warms up in the afternoon and by night fall the

temp drops. poor jesse hasn't been able to get over one kind of weather

before it changes again.

we may be moving within the next 6 months back to fl. not sure where in fl

yet though. depends on what dealership my boyfriend and his father move to.

we do know it will be in fl though. at least it will be a bit warmer and

drier for jesse then it is here. better schools too.

Judy and Tery,

and I would threaten you with a visit but all of this weather has

stopped most of the planes out of the frozen north!!!!!!!

Enjoy your nice weather. We will see sunshine again someday.

Ha, ha, Tery and Judy! Thanks for nothin', you two!!!! I'll be thinking of

you two and mumbling things about Florida and Arizona weather while I clear

the driveway and sidewalk. We're up to five or six inches now and the

driving is treacherous. I just spent two hours driving the kids to school

because they didn't call it off and the busses are running late.

On my way into the house, I checked to see if the snow was good packing.

Bummer! It's not. That means after my shoveling chores I won't be able to

build a snow woman or a Godzilla for fun. But I can still make a snow angel.

As Pat said, we can't even fly out to join you in the warm sunshine! O'Hare

Airport started canceling flights last night in anticipation of the bad

weather.

I'll take Florida sunshine any day over snow angels! Sunburn is better than

frostbite!

Enjoy your freshly fallen snow. It really is beautiful and so much fun for

the kids.

a,

A visit to Florida sounds great but I can't imagine nor having the winter

snows - the day may come but for now - I love making snow angels.

This is the truth - SD used to be called the Sunshine State. Whoever gave

us that title had a good sense of humor. We changed the state nickname

because no one believed it anyway.

Maybe whoever named it was confused with snow glare.

I won't miss the snow at all. The cold weather just means pain for me.

In the warm weather I don't even have to take pain pills. I'll take my

pictures if I get lonely for snow :)

Actually I am trying to figure out how I can stay in Florida for 6 months

and here for 6 months. I have to many friends & family that I would miss if

I moved.

Thanks, a! I'm enjoying the VIEW ONLY today. The temperature has dropped

so low that I don't think I'll be venturing outside. Frostbite is a very bad

idea and a real danger today. It's going to be hard to convince my little

of that. He played a lot yesterday after school and into the night.

We've had over a foot of snow. Even the UPS truck got stuck in front of my

house last night.

Yes, a! We got more snow, and more is on way. We must have about two

feet total right now.

PS. Tery and Judy - you need not comment further.

I live in a western suburb of Chicago called Naperville, Jeannette.

Although the total dimished overnight due to a lot of freezing rain,

we had accumulated about 14 or 15 inches from the first big snow day

and then about 5 or 6 over the next couple of days. We are expecting

2 to 4 inches today.

It looks beautiful.

Yes, Chicago area really got dumped on I hear. We don't have quite that much

up in mid Wisconsin. I guess we are expecting a cold front to come through

though and maybe some snow again. My girlfriend in Milwaukee talk of a cold

front, my SIL in Black River Falls talks of a snow storm. Sometimes living

in the middle belt, we miss alot of storms that others get.

Gosh, I did not realize that you lived that close to me. Maybe some day we

can arrange a meeting. I do occasionally get down that way but I don't

suppose you get up this way although alot of Illinois people like vacationing

in Wisconsin. Its real pretty here, real pretty.

Hope you are well. Stay warm and snug.

We are leaving for Chicago on 12/23/00 for thd e holidays with my sister.

She lives in LaGrange Highlands. It was 83 degrees here today, shopping in

flip flops, shorts, etc. I guess we can't do this next week at this time.

My sisters in laws live in Naperville, great schools.........I tried to find

some boots for my kids to take next week, all we have are sandals......I

guess if I can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Stay warm & pain free

Hi :

For hairballs, I buy this malt flavored stuff in a tube and give the cats (3)

their weekly allowance. It has really helped and they love the taste; they

think it is a treat. We haven't had much of a problem since I have been

using this stuff. You can buy it at most pet places.

How long will you be here, Debs? Today it was approaching something like -50

with the wind chill, so maybe you could beg your sister to buy you and your

kids some boots and bring them to the airport when they meet you (or will

you take a limo or taxi?).

Hope it warms up by the 23rd!

I am becoming more envious of our Southern members all

the time. This morning I woke up to a winter wonderland-

the trees and roofs are just beautiful and frosted but

the roads and sidewalks are treacherous. My plow guy

just showed up now ( 7:30) - so I've spent most of the

day indoors again. My little kitten has had belly

rumbles - (I think he eats way too much too fast

sometimes) for three days and is beginning to resemble

Kudrow's " Smelly cat " - I've been chasing Riley

trying to wash off various of his uh.. body parts.

Otherwise he seems fine. I am going to try Mylanta or

plain yogurt tomorrow if it doesn't get better ( vet

said to try). He is drinking water and playing or I

would be worried. My big Clancy has decided to join in

with hairballs. My cable is out - probably under the

weight of the snow so I am checking e-mail and doing

Christmas cards ....yet. Hope everyone is warm and

mobile.

I am very envious of the southerners too! I hate being a shut-in during the

winter. The pain level is so much higher because we are so much less

active.

I hope your kitties feel better!

I use femalt for my guys too - but Clancy is so long

haired it does not always do a perfect job. The trick

today was to give some to Clancy but to avoid giving it

too Riley - he does NOT need it at the moment. The guys

are my buddies and companions on these long days. They

will be so spoiled when I go back to work in just 2

weeks! I see my Dr. on Friday and assume he will let me

go back after New Years. Part of me wants to ask for

another week ...I know how crazy it will be. I am going

to my office Christmas lunch on Thursday if the weather

cooperates. I've attached pictures of me and my cute

guys if anyone is interested.

don't envy us southern members to much. right now its about 31 and frost all

over. over the weekend we had tornados that killed 10 people and winds up 50

miles an hour. jesse is hurting so much. he has a drs appointment at 9:45

this morning but iam calling to change it for later in the week and later in

the day. its just to cold to take him out. he cried saying that he is so cold

and didn't want to go to the dr at all. so we made a deal. i can't say that i

blame him at all.

stay warm,

thanks for the warning. i couldn't believe the weather forecast!!! another 6

inches!!! i got up heard that . reviewed my aches and pains and the weather.

i have decided to go on medical leave for now. i can't take anymore. my feet

and ankles are hurting. i slipped on the ice last night. didn't fall, but now

my whole left side is hurting and stiff. i just can't handle any more. i

don't want to get stuck on the road another 2 hours. it's not fair to my

co-workers. i am missing more and more time. time to just take the 1/2 pay

and try to rest. not sure how i'll survive but i just need a break.
