Hi,I'm new here, not new to peroxide tho. Used it for years to brush my

teeth and a few other things with unusual resutls.

I've been on a Yeast list for a few years, tho I'm male, I'm effected.

Some friends (Hi Friends!) told me about this list and now I have filtering

I thought I'd try it.

I have a strong histroy of yeast related illnesses, from hearing loss,

Dyslexia to Encephlitius (sleeping sickness). Many other symptomes of

others too.

My first discovery of health was on the Atkin's diet back in 76. My life

did a compleat turn around. Including restoration of hearing in my right

ear that I'd never had before.

The cause of the slow loss of that health is still not compleatly clear.

Antibiotics is strongly indicated as well as an increase in hi carb foods.

Plus working with dangerous chemicals (Autobody & Painting) I re-desined

most of my own equipment to make it safer, guess not safe enough tho.

I've since lost my business(84) along with most of my health. Been

waiting for the internet to come around and the prices to drop so I could

find out what's really going on. I've been off and on the internet,

because of money diffaculties. I'm unable to work and on SSI. I'm not

giving up as my Yeast friends know.

Sadly all the scam's out there, brain fog and lack of energy slow the

searching a great deal and the lack of funds limits most possibilities.

There is something to this H202 as I've been trying it for a few months,

(store bought 3%. Yes I know about the stableizers) not in the proper

amounts either. Talk about itchy skin.

But it helped! I started clearing in my mind enough to get some much

needed work started on the house. I fear I over did it on both the

peroxide as well as the work.

So I know it can be of some great help.

I hope to learn and share experences with this group too.

Hi everyone!! I just found this list a couple days ago and wanted to

introduce myself. My name is Liz and I'm 25 years old. I have 1

brother

with SMA, 2 until one was killed in a car accident this past May. I

Hi ! Well, at least you're not waiting until it's 130, 150,

200, etc, pounds overweight to start :) I started at a size 30--338

pounds, I'm 5'8 " , and I'm down to about 263lbs (size 18/20). The last

couple of months have been more difficult because the weight is now

coming off very slowly. Every other time I've managed to get some

weight off, I've given up at the first plateau--this time I'm hanging

in there, but boy is it hard.

What's your game plan to get - and keep - the weight off?

Best of luck and there's lots of support and encouragement in

here...it's wonderful :)

Hi , You will get all the support you want with this group. I have been told that living a healthy easting life style has to be done for 1-1/2 years for it to be habitual, or a way of life for life. You can do this. All those pounds did not come on overnight and they won't come off overnight either. It takes time to do it right. We are here to help you do just that. Thanks, Sharon. I've been battleing 80 pounds for about 4 years now. I met my hsband 8 years abo and I was 134. BUT now i'm 100 pounds over that. I got thin the first time by only eating every 2-3 dayd, but he won't let me skip meals now. I just can't see how I am going to get it off and eat too.

Oh my gosh, Sharon--that long?! I've always read that it takes 3

weeks to break habits or form new ones. But it took me about 4-6

weeks to really get into the groove of exercising. As for the eating

portion of my plan...well, there are days when I sail through and days

when I have to fight to stay on plan. And I still think that (most

days) I'm one tragedy away from gaining it all back. For instance, a

death in the family...which is inevitable. But I just don't know that

I have *that* good a hold on my emotional eating. I can control it

day to day 99% of the time (pretty darn good considering the years of

absolutely no control and overeating daily), but for how long? That's

what scares me. I'm going to have to be careful every single day of

my life if I want to keep it off. Which means even when in very

stressful situations, I'm going to have to stay aware of my eating

habits and that's not always easy to do. Guess I'll cross that bridge

when I get to it and hope I still have some ladies on this group to

help me stay on track :)

Welcome and congrats on taking a first step. Or 2nd LOL - deciding you need to do something was first, coming here 2nd or 3rd, etc...

Just remember, you didn't gain the weight overnight, it ain't coming off overnight. Don't do anything drastic and go on too few calories or start jogging miles and miles tomorrow.

Make small changes at a time that are doable: water, exercise, portions, journaling, etc.

And, stay plugged into support system. Are you married, kids, etc? Are they supportive, etc?

If not, how about friends, family?

OK, next - we'll be your support too!!

I am , 38 single mom of 3 boys (10, 12, almost 14) and work full time, go to school part time, joined Curves last October.... I have lost almost 30 lbs. Just plugging along, one day at a time.

By eating and exercising and drinking water. We need to eat to lose weight or our metabolism stalls and holds on to every pound and then some.... survival mode, starvation mode, etc whatever they call it now days... there are ways to figure out how many calories "you should" eat a day based on your height, weight, exercise levels etc. Do not fall below a certain amount (what, 1200 calories ladies??) These gals can point you to the places to figure out calories to eat. Aim for 1-2 lbs a week, nothing drastic. You don't want the weight to just come flying off, that won't be healthy either.

What's your game plan to get - and keep - the weight off?

Honestly I don't have much of a game plan. I am just writing down what I eat and trying to eat less. If I write it down I am less likely to go overboard. Because then my husband can look at it at any time. He's gonna try to coach me this time. If I know he'll look at then I'm less likely to overreat (I don't want to be embarrassed by the amounts I eat). The other part is moving. I really hate to exercise but I know I have to do it. I've lost weight in the past bu always by not eating so this is kinda new to me. (My husband makes me eat 3 meals a day) I'm so used to just quitting eating when I want to lose weight this is really hard for me not to.

You've got a smart hubby! You can't loose healthily eating every few days - your body will go into starvation mode and hold onto the fat. You can do it and we're here for you. I'm doing calories at this time - 1800 at the moment - (I am down to 303 from 330) , I drink lots of water - here's where I hang my head - I haven't exercised since moving 2 months ago. Just remember that you're doing this for *you*. Have you read " Make

the Connection " ? If you haven't, and have a library near, it's an

easy read and he (Bob Greene) puts forth a very reasonable plan for

eating and exercising. Like you, I am journaling my food intake, and

there are several sites that will help you determine what you need. I

use caloriesperhour.com -- go to BMR/RMR, follow the steps and it'll

tell you how many calories (daily) you need to maintain your current

weight. So subtract 500-800 from that value to lose 1-2 pounds per week.

Okay, but every time you quit eating, you mess up your metabolism a

little bit more. And once you start eating again, which is really

only a matter of time, your body will grab onto every last calorie and

store it as fat. Also, when you lose weight by not eating enough,

you're losing lots of muscle along with fat and water--so that makes

your metabolism more sluggish as well. I won't go into the gazillion

benefits of exercise, only will say that it *does* increase your

metabolism and it does help to release more of the 'happy' chemicals

in your brain that make you feel more satisfied when eating. For what

it's worth, I absolutely hated it, too. Then I found WATP and slowly

over the last 9-10 months, I've become an exercise junkie :)

I hope I'm not coming across as bossy, I'm only trying to give you a

few things to think about. Best of luck :)

Just be careful that he doesn't become the diet police for you. You don't want him to be watching every bite you take and telling you what is wrong with it. You don't want him giving you a big guilt trip for every slip up you make.You might want to consider posting your food journal here on this list. I'm having a hard time getting back into the exercise routine too. Shoot, during these summer months, I've been having a hard time having any kind of routine. I've been traveling so much lately -- and have a bit more to do. That really seems to throw me off. We head to Phoenix, Arizona for a conferenced the end of the month. That should be the last of the traveling for a few months. My goal is to start exercising on a regular basis when I'm done with the traveling. Start again after we get back. Then during those few months, I know that I will need to come up with an exercise plan that will allow for some traveling -- and figure out an exercise plan for when we travel. <bryefield@...> wrote: I haven't exercised since moving 2 months ago. Hi , Welcome to the group. the best thing you can do is what

you are doing now.....making a effort. If you truly put forth a effort then

you arent failing. You are going to slip and go off plan. Please expect this

to happen. This weight is going to take you over a year to lose. There is no

possible way you will go a entire year and not mess up. So when that day

comes, and it will, Don't give up and quit with the attitude " I've failed " .

Instead realize you are human. You went off plan and just dust off and start

again. The important thing is start again right then and there. Don't use

the excuse well I've messed up, I'll go ahead and eat everything I want and

I'll start again tomorrow or I'll start again at the beginning of the week.

Start as soon as you realize you've gone off plan . Don't wait for a new

day.You can do this. If you need support just give the group a yell. Someone

is always here to help. These ladies are really great. They can give you

loads of good info. They will be happy for you when you lose. Cry with you

when you gain. They will give you advise as to what has helped them and even

give you helpful criticism when you need it too. Don't be embarrassed to

post and tell the truth and true feelings while here in this group. I don't

think there is anything you can say that some of us havent already

experienced. That is why support groups works so well. We all been there and

done that. Just stay with us, even if you feel like quitting. You can do

this!!! Just remeber it is gonna take time. Don't give up!

..I am married to a wonderful man I have 4 kids, only 2 live with me.My hubby and 4 year old are VERY supportive. I moved to the LA area to get away from my family they are awful. My plan at the moment is to eat 1800- 2000 calories, no more than 20% fat and exercise at least 15 min everyday. I already drink lots of water it is the #1 drink in our home. I am doing ok, my husband broke my scale last night, He knocked a picture off the wall and it fell on it. So it says I weigh 110 this morning It's been a long time since I seen those numbers LOL. Yesterday I was at 226, I guess I'm about the same today.

And, stay plugged into support system. Are you married, kids, etc? Are they supportive, etc?

Bonnie, How do you know if you are sedentary or active? I really don't sit down til the evening, until then I am up moving, cleaning house running after kids(2 and 4). Is that active? What is WATP? I need to break out my Sweatin' to the Oldies so I can be more like you, :)

I am doing richards foodmover and it says you should eat 1600 calories a day to loose weight. Also watp is walk away the pounds by leslie sansone. I have alot of her dvds but they bore me because you do the same thing over and over I like tapes because they offer variety. Good luck on the weight lose it is hard. I started at 325 and I am down to 245. I have about 90 more pounds to lose.Jana

What I did was chart my food for a wekk and average the calories. I was eating about 3000 calories. SO I cut back to 1800-2000, staying closer to the 1800. Then If I don't lose I'll cut back by more. Is this a wrong way?

I would try that and if you dont lose any then I would move down to 1600-1800 a day. Right now I am on blast off week so I am eating 1200 calories a day. I gained 15lbs back because I was nibbling off of my kids plates which should be a big no no lol. Good luck.

I consider myself lightly active most days, despite the exercise I get

in. If I find myself really hungry (usually on days when I've

exercised longer/harder than usual), I just add on 200-300 calories

for that day and try to make it really healthy foods like extra fruits

or lean proteins.

Our kids are close to the same ages--mine are 5 and (almost) 3. :) My

oldest will go to kindergarten soon...I don't know what I'll do with

myself! :)

Oh, and WATP=Walk Away the Pounds. I bought mine off Amazon and it

was one DVD with three workouts--Get Up and Get Started (1 mile, 16

mins), High Calorie Burn (2 miles, 32 mins), and Super Fat Burning (3

miles, 48 mins). It was $16 when I bought it. I still use it now,

but not as much since I've gotten into step aerobics. It's so easy to

do, though, right in your living room (even if your room is really

small!). But Sweatin' to the Oldies is great, too! Good luck :)

For what it's worth, I really don't think that's a great way to start!

I eat 2100-2200 daily and I lost really quickly for the first 6

months, now it's slowed down, so I've increased my exercise again and

am waiting to see if I also need to cut back on calories. I think

you're doing it very smart--if it doesn't work, then you'll have to

try lowering your intake, but I'd bet it'll work just fine :)
