Guest guest
Hi all, I'm a new member! My name is Lynda, and I live in Michigan with a wonderful man and two very bad dogs. I joined this group because of my wonderful man, . I have been with him through 2 knee surgeries, foot surgery, various broken bones and ribs and he has never ever been one to complain about pain. Well, now he is having back problems and it just has him floored even with the vicadin! Bottom line is Sciatic nerve pain. Three vertebrae are pinching the nerve in his lower back, and one of the disks is 75% deteriorated. He's already gone through 6 epidural procedures, and they even burned out the nerve on the left side. He is currently doing physical therapy, which has helped somewhat, but surgery is being talked about more and more. What pisses me off is the doctor is saying only a 50-50 chance of it being helpful. I do NOT like those odds! So, I wanted to join here to hear from others who have gone through the various treatments so we can be better informed about options out there and know what questions to ask the doctors. We are open to any and all suggestions/ideas/advice before trying surgery. Thank you for listening, and I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!
