Our local radio station just had this onion subject / discussion a couple of

days ago.

The man from the local health food store (who often goes on and makes his

opposition to vaccinations for most people very clear) was talking about how

onions attract bacteria. He said that he and his family have not been sick in

years, and they believe that (in part) it is due to the fact that they do this

with the onions.

He cuts them in half and sets them on a plate in each room (for really large

rooms he uses more than one). He keeps them there for about a week-until they

dry. He says that the onion scent goes away quickly.

It's the first I had heard of it, but from what I've seen and heard, this guy

really knows his stuff.
