Guest guest
Health officials across the country are trumpeting pertussis vaccinations, but a four-month investigation by KPBS and the Watchdog Institute, a nonprofit investigative center based at San Diego State University, has found that many people who have come down with whooping cough have been immunized ... In examining the pertussis epidemic, KPBS and the Watchdog Institute collected federal, state and county statistics and consulted and interviewed experts from Los Angeles to the Netherlands. Keys findings included: For pertussis cases in which vaccination histories are known, between 44 and 83 percent were of people who had been immunized, according to data from nine California counties with high infection rates. In San Diego County, more than two thirds of the people in this group were up to date on their immunizations. Health officials in Ohio and Texas, two states experiencing whooping cough outbreaks, report that of all cases, 75 and 67.5 percent respectively, reported having received a pertussis vaccination. Today, the rate of disease in some California counties is as high as 139 per 100,000, rivaling rates before vaccines were developed. Public officials around the world rely heavily on two groups of pertussis experts when setting vaccine policy relating to the disease. Both groups, and many of their members, receive money from the two leading manufacturers of pertussis vaccine. http://www.watchdoginstitute.org/2010/12/13/whooping-cough-epidemic-california/ Sheri Nakken, former R.N., MA, Hahnemannian Homeopath Vaccination Information & Choice Network, Washington State, USA Vaccines - http://vaccinationdangers.wordpress.com/ Homeopathy http://homeopathycures.wordpress.com Vaccine Dangers, Childhood Disease Classes & Homeopathy Online/email courses - next classes start February

Guest guest
Wow!!! Could this mean that the vaccine is spreading the disease?? My own experience with W/C is the kids that were vaccinated against it got a much worse case of the disease than the kids who had not been jabbed. Guest guest
It's not supposed to since it's not a live virus vaccine. But it certainly can lower the immune system. Who knows what is actually in it anyway? I don't know many people who have had WC (besides my son a few months ago and a friend some 18 years ago) to really say whether I've noticed vaxed vs non-vaxed cases. But I think someone having a worse case or not depends on your definition of that. I think when you have stronger symptoms, you're fighting a disease better. If your immune system is weak, you might have fewer symptoms but they can last longer. You never really get well, you can get secondary problems such as pneumonia, etc.--you don't recover as easily. So many kids are sick all the time they probably don't even consider whether it's WC if they're vaxed. It's interesting in this article that they're comparing rates of disease to pre-vaccine times. Could there be other factors, such as more junk foods and fast food diets that did not really exist in the 1940's? In the 1970's the WC rate was 1 in 100,000 but with 40 years of mass vaccination since then the rate of disease has increased. Doesn't really speak to the effectiveness of the vaccine, if you ask me. And what about rates of death? And why DID the baby get it if the whole family was vaccinated, including the MOTHER IN THE HOSPITAL....hmmm... no connection there, I'm sure. I wonder if they should include that in the ads pushing everyone to get vaccinated. Thought-provoking article, although I don't agree with the date given for the acellular vaccine as 1996. My kids were offered that in 1993. I suppose that could have been done without FDA approval...
