Those who knew him are shocked and saddened by his suicide, as well as by the death of Loudon County Sheriff's Deputy, . Harvey is alleged to have shot and killed Deputy last Friday when the officer was dispatched to the Harvey residence on Palmer Road. According to Loudon County authorities, Harvey's mother had summoned police from a neighbor's home after her son had assaulted her with a pipe. The teen suspect held more than one hundred officers at bay in a tense standoff lasting more than 24 hours. Officers entered the Harvey home on Saturday and found Harvey dead of what appears to have been a self-inflicted bullet wound to the head. He left no suicide note. At Little Joe's Pizza, everyone is struggling to cope with their teen friend's suicide, as well as the terrible crime of which he's accused. Some have been wearing black armbands on the job in remembrance of their community's recent double tragedy. " It's been really hard, " admits restaurant manager, Rusty Brannon. " That's an understatement for sure, but it's been hard on all of us. " Brannon and others say that the boy they affectionately called " Harvey " had become a member of their family at this family-owned restaurant. He was known for his love of movies and good jokes. " He had a good sense of humor. People are saying he was a loner, but they obviously didn't know him, " says Little Joe's cook, Jake Ingleby. Both Ingleby and Harvey started their jobs at the restaurant ten months ago and now, Ingleby is covering Harvey's shifts. Rose , a co-worker who was also Harvey's classmate at Lenoir City High School says that she's feeling Harvey's absence " When I walked into the class we have together and saw his desk, I almost started crying, " says . Although they are grieving Harvey's suicide, his friends and co-workers are equally saddened by the death of Deputy , a 24 year old man who was to become a father for the first time this month. They know the facts of the case, yet they still find it difficult to comprehend that the teenager they knew could have committed murder. " Nobody would have ever expected anything like this from him, " explains Rusty Brannon. " I know everyone's heard that a hundred times about him by now, but it really was a complete surprise to all of us. " Little Joe's General Manager, Pressley agrees. " You think you know somebody, but maybe you don't, " notes Pressley. ---- TALK ABOUT IT IN THE WBIR TALKBACK ONLINE FORUM: Talk about the / Harvey case with others MORE INFORMATION FROM WBIR.COM: Teen Suspect Guns Down Deputy; Standoff Continues Loudon Sheriff: Murdered Officer " a Wonderful Young Man " With Baby on the Way ============================================================= Hi Gloria, I'm not at home, so I can't access the original links I sent around, but here are two more new articles.
