Guest guest
I am so use to dealing with mania being a symptom of bipolar and people getting diagnosed with bipolar while in AD induced mania that I completely forgot that the mania can occur and the person taking the AD would not necessarily be diagnosed with bipolar of any sort. **sigh** Been living in the world of bipolar too long, folks. Sorry about that. > > > > In a message dated 8/13/05 9:43:52 AM Mountain Daylight Time, > > > > SSRI medications writes: > > > > > > > > > > > > > Anyone looking into > > > > > whether or not these young attractive women, some married, > are > > > taking > > > > > SSRIs making them hypersexual and unable to use their common > sense > > > and > > > > > stay away from boys? > > > > > > > > > I heard that a couple of these women WERE being treated for > > > " depression " > > > > prior to their involvement with their young students. Guest guest
Sara You have nothing to be sorry about. I'd guess that most of the time when a person has been manic they will be diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I also believe that there are literally thousands of people that were diagnosed as bipolar due to a reaction to SSRI's that are in fact no more bipolar than the man in the moon. I believe the tendency is to take the easy way out when patients are diagnosed while completely forgetting that the first rule of bipolar diagnosis is that there can not be anything else that could have caused the behavior.
