Too much is happening to me lately....could it > be " just getting older " ????(I am 56). Love to have your comments. Hi, I am so glad you joined us....I am sorry to say that all of the symptoms you have mentioned above are classic silicone poisoning symptoms from breast implants, whether saline or silicone gel. I am afraid that this does not sound like " just getting older " , but a typical immune response to the foreign object in your body, which sounds like it has been going on for quite some time. Going to your implanting plastic surgeon may be an exercise in futility, unless that doctor is well versed in the disease associations with breast implants. Otherwise you are likely to hear that the implants have nothing to do with your problems. It all depends on how knowledgeable and unpolitically connected he/she is, as unfortunately, most doctors will spout the ASPRS platitudes about the safety of implants. However, there are many doctors, usually alternative minded, who know the dangers associated with breast implants, and will work with you to help detoxify your body. The first step, of course, is to remove the offending implants. They must be removed properly, taking all the scar tissue as well as the implants. A small leak in a saline implant will deflate slowly over time. It would also be possible that since you have had your implants as long as you have, that you may not have saline, but silicone gel instead. It is not uncommon for those who had them placed that long ago to believe that they had saline when in fact the doctor put in silicone gel. Who would know the difference? Let us know what you decide to do! Patty
