I have now (with the help of much more computer literate friends-thanks be to

God) secured my e-mail address, so anything posted from me should be 'safe'

from now on.

I can only say that my CPN (community psychiatric nurse) understood that it

was very difficult to deal with such a person as my ex-husband as he appeared

to be 'such a nice person' very loving and supportive (but she had listened to

me for weeks - aka control freak - Read the book 'Power and Control -Why

charming men can make dangerous lovers') and told me it was unwise to make

decisions when either high or depressed. How come I was (after hospitalisation

for

three months and many different drugs) then given the news that I had changed

from 'thankyou for introducing to me this very charming lady' (from my

consultant

psychiatrist to my GP) then 3 months later labelled 'this very resistant to

treatment patient'! I was then offered under 'informed consent' ECT as the

only option left to lift my depressed state, when labelled 'clinically

depressed' (whatever that is - I couldn't fight my way out of a wet paper bag is

all I

know). Medical ethics, common sense and adherence to the Hypocratic oath died

many millenia ago!

You should find the attached link interesting and informative.

Maddie
