Guest guest
Hi welcome to the group. I went thru almost 2 yrs of doing everything but surgery, at first like you I didn't want to have it. Then I couldn't find a dr who was willing to help me. I finally did thank heavens because I was at my wits end with pain. Not only neck pain but my back had started up too. Then my neck was by far the worse and I had a fusion done there and its been pretty good since then. I ddin't have any rods or cages put in mine just bone grafts and the whole thing was just stacked together like blocks. I had to be real careful of it at first while it healed and fused up. I wore a collar for about 2 months but it healed up very well. The only thing I have left to remind me of it is a slight scar across the front of my neck. I wasn't so lucky with my back I had 3 surgeries there before they finally got it as good as it will be. But since they took so long to fuse it I am left with alot of nerve damage now. If you have any questions feel free to ask me or email me about your surgery. I would be glad to answer them for you. But not all neck surgeries go badly, at least I was lucky on that one. Again welcome to the group.
