FINAL???? You bet.... over my dead body..... Here's a couple of

rebuttals:

Concerning Ed Silverman's article: " Antidepressant Use Worth Risk " –

I'd like to inform Mr Silverman that VanSycle is not the only parent

that takes umbrage with this claim. I'm another. My twelve year old son

was prescribed PROZAC for depression. Guess what? It didn't work. He died

at fourteen. His obituary states his death was by suicide.

Have you seen this petition?

http://www.petitiononline.com/lilpro

It's signed by thousands of angry people who do not believe that Prozac is

safe or effective. Would you like to talk to a few of these people? I can

put you in touch with them.

I also strongly advise you to check out the " rap " sheets for the members of

the ACNP task force. As far as I'm concerned they are all professional

" drug pushers " .

Why don't you turn a leaf and start proposing safe options for treating

depression - like exercise and proper nutrition and finding out what's

causing the depression? It's quite a long shot to ascribe depression to low

serotonin levels... Why don't you investigate the newest reports coming out

of Canada? Their conclusion is that it's time for the charade to end....

The cost of depression drugs is bankrupting the nation. Oh, and Sweden just

issued a report on Prozac. They're banning it for use in kids under the age

of eighteen. Are American kids different than Swedish kids?

Thanks for letting me vent,
