Dear Darian,

Would you like to take this one on? I was thinking that if you wrote a very calm and informative letter to the editors of all these women's magazines pointing out that their readers weight gain may not be caused only by the holiday feasts, they would print it in February's issue. You're running pretty late for January's.

If you include a couple stories from the members and include directions to antidepressantsfacts and prozactruth for weight gain info , we might get some hits. I'm sure if you cuddle up to Jim and Charly, they'll put a big headline on their web pages about weight gain and you can collaborate with them on the message.

If you do this, I'll motivate some more members to take out a small classified ad in their community newspapers about weight gain and the drugs, leading to the websites. We'll run the ad from Jan 15 to March 15 or so.

C'mon, it'll be fun !

Oh yes Tim, definately. As a matter of fact I already posted an

interesting study regarding antidepressants and weight gain

on " AntidepressantsFacts. " In this study, resting metabolic rate (RMR)

levels were measured before and during antidepressant treatment.

Major reductions in RMR were observed in the individuals that were

treated with antidepressants.

Their conclusion:

" The drop in RMR in these patients might contribute to long-term

weight gain in these individuals (of course, increases in appetite

and food intake, often reported upon recovery from a depressive

episode, are also important factors to consider in evaluating chronic

weight gain). "
