His name does not appear as President, or any other official in the organization, as noted on their website. Do you know of this person, and how in the heck have they designated themselves " The E.F.E.O. – European Federation of Essential Oils – was established in June 2002 by national associations of European countries representing companies involved in the production and trade of Essential oils and related raw materials. The head office is situated at the German VDC in Hamburg. " I'm just getting a suspicious feeling, don't know why. The results from these studies > are expected " early in 2003 " . Hope you'll keep us informed as things progress, Tony. I visited the EFEO website - most interesting! It would truly be a huge loss if EO's were to become unavailable or even unnecessarily restricted. Some things governments do well - but sometimes I think the gov't bureaucracies can become overprotective. I have a bit of a problem with directives handed down from " omniscient " gov't agencies, since it seems to me to encourage an attitude of " take care of me, O Government " in the public that I think is unhealthy. I'd prefer to inform myself and be responsible for my own decisions, thank you. I know that's simplistic, because on the other hand SOME purveyors are strictly out to make a buck/euro and don't give a fig about customers' health and so on. But again I'm disturbed that the majority of the public seems ok with abdicating their personal responsibility/decisionmaking to the " beneficent " (?) government bureaucracies, and with allowing themselves and their activities to be monitored ever more closely. > [some] American companies (including the group & Fragrance > Materials Association of the US) are saying that that they fear > that there are government regulators in the FDA and Congress who > can potentially put the US perfume trade out of business. They may > do this inadvertently because they don't understand the issues - > like making benzaldehyde (oil of bitter almonds) a controlled > substance (!).... As a forensic scientist & (illegal) drug analyst, I can tell you that the US DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) already placed benzaldehyde on their " watch list " several years ago, since it's used in at least one synthetic route to amphetamine. Likewise safrole, which is found in fairly high concentrations in " brown " camphor oil and sassafras oil, is also on DEA's list. In Texas, where I work, the Tex Dept of Health (TDH) has drawn from DEA's list as well as the list of about 20 so- called 'precursor chemicals " that already exist in Texas law, to come up with an even more all-encompassing list. A number of the chemicals on the list are found in EO's or are common fragrance chemicals - such as piperonal and methyl anthranilate. On a forensic list I belong to, a question was recently posed: What could phenethyl alcohol be used for in a clandestine (drug) lab setting? I was sorely tempted to write back that the question should be, " What LEGITIMATE uses would a person have for phenethyl alcohol? " Maybe he or she is a budding perfume chemist! A little farther afield, the TDH list also includes common solvents such as acetone, toluene, and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), and acids such as sulfuric acid (drain cleaner) and hydrochloric acid (pool acid), not to mention lye (watch out, soapers!). In my opinion, it's getting a bit nuts. We're assured that these are merely " tools for law enforcement " -- but then why do I get these shivers up my spine? Not because I'm making drugs, but because even chemicals with legitimate uses are now targeted as potential " drug precursors " . Don't get me wrong - the vast majority of the law enforcement officers I've come across have been highly dedicated people. But I do think that some, particularly those who have been in narcotics investigation for a long time, become overzealous. (So do some prosecutors.) The " war on drugs " has become very big business itself. But just like that snack food company, the drug cartels say, " Don't worry [if x% of the supply is interdicted] -- we'll make more! " It's a war that's unwinnable. When I was a lad, I had a small hobbyist chem lab at home, and there were a number of small niche companies in the US that repackaged and sold small quantities of chemicals to hobbyists just like myself. No more. The drug wars have all but killed that cottage industry. True, the 'Net has also made it much easier to find drug " recipes " -- no longer does the erstwhile illegal drug chemist have to learn much of the jargon of chemistry, or trudge to the university and pore over dusty tomes of Chemical Abstracts and Berichte and JACS -- but surely drug-making is not the primary goal of MOST hobbyist chemists, even today. I never did make drugs when I was a kid - even though I did know how to read the chemical literature and could have found the procedures had I been so inclined. The new government philosophy is " prior restraint " - and here's where I'm finally coming back full circle to your post, Tony, about restricting benzaldehyde. Under " prior restraint " , it's assumed that MOST people, given a chance, will use chemicals to make illegal drugs (or explosives poisons or chemical warfare agents or whatever) - either to use themselves or to sell to others. Acting on that premise, laws are passed that make it illegal (or at least closely scrutinized) to sell chemicals to individuals. In Texas - and I'm told, in several other states too - it's illegal to even buy/have chemical GLASSWARE, without a permit from the police. I think that that's going way overboard, but I suspect that anyone that publicly voices opposition to that law would immediately be placed under heightened police scrutiny! My fear is that essential oils will go the way of chemicals in general, with the gov't suspicious that the individuals using them are somehow trying to make drugs with them or that they pose some (improperly) perceived " grave risk to the public " - and based on that misinformed stance, legislators will restrict them severely. The question is, what can we as individuals do to prevent this? EFEO is open only to organizations (and anyway few individuals could afford the 3000 euros for membership!). I do hope that EFEO's efforts will be crowned with success, and that it's not too late. From their website, it certainly seems like they were able to open several MEP's eyes to the collateral consequences of restricting the infamous " 26 allergens " without regard to where those particular substances were found -- such as EO's! But I am also leery of DEA's and FDA's well- entrenched channels to the legislators here in the US. They've gotten laws passed that make not only LISTED drugs illegal, but also other " SIMILAR " substances (the " analog " law). Federal prosecutors have successfully used this law to convict someone who had 1,4- butanediol, as an " analog " of the prohibited 4-hydroxybutanoic acid, also known as " GHB " . Depending how far the DEA chemist (the govt's " expert " ) is willing to take it, a number of legitimate chemicals could be classified as analogs, at the whim of the prosecutor. Scary. Okay, enough soapbox for one night! Back to lurk mode!! -- Larry

Guest guest
NO NO NO! I just feel very blessed that you're able to receive the information we all need and you care enough and have enough energy and heart to share it with all of us. There are alot of people out there with a storehouse of information, Dr's for example, that aren't nearly as open and free with their lifesaving knowledge. SENSITIVE DONT READ THIS: I had some kind of bi-polar suicide attempt thing recently. I can't even figure it out. I'm okay now. Maybe that's what you sensed. I don't like to bother people with my problems, but lately I'm spilling them out all over. Maybe I need to. I guess some people do care. I try to reach out. I'd never hurt a fly, only myself. I have to stop that. Internalizing. OKAY! ENUF! It's a beautiful Saturday! I'm gonna work in the garden. We are growing vegetables. Maybe I'll go to the coast or San Fransisco. Thank You for asking, Liz. Love, Ivy "elwilkinson@..." <elwilkinson@...> wrote: Hey Ivy..Do I detect a little dismay in your post? -- Re: Important News WHAT KIND OF CRAP IS THIS SPAM??????????????? Guest guest
Right On! I like to do it on the weekdays because there's less people though. That's a trip because I was just talking to Steve about going to pick the artichokes and going up to gather veggies and fruit. Natures healers. And the cool, clean air and serenity - definately a healer. Good idea, Liz. Thanks, Ivy"elwilkinson@..." <elwilkinson@...> wrote: Vent!!!!!!!!! It's good for the soul. Guest guest
“THE AFFIDAVIT” http://www.fluscam.com/Affidavit.htmlTHIS IS TO BE CONFIRMED... I just heard.....so nothing confirmed here... I heard last night from an American friend living in the Philippines that he listened to Steve Quayle from last week on the 25th. They say that in Middle East a bio-weapon has been released to weaponize the PIG and BIRD flue virus. They are also anticipating a couple of nukes to be set off in American cities.. In addition, he reports that likely they will create a flase flag event by detonatiing a nuke in a couple of U.S. cities. Like a suit case bomb. This will be used to declare Medical emergency Martial Law and forced vaccinations. The flu released in April was a weak version. It has been said by many that they aniticipate that later in the winter (which is now) that they would release a stronger version and that it would recombine with the April version which will make the flu more deadly. Now it has been reported by Steve Quayle thru his military sources that a weaponized flu virus has been released in the Middle East. So now it begins.... Note that this Affidavit has many attachments, I was told. I did not have time to read it yet since I must leave in a few minutes.
