Yes I did.

It looks like and Dr. Leroy Young have put this together, but who

knows what the results will mean? It is hardly a scientific survey, so the

results won't mean much. This is probably more of a marketing ploy than

anything else.

Why do you say it would be meaningless? If you polled a hundred women it would at least be more information for anyone who logged on. It would also show the various different ways it can effect you. Just taking a poll that ask Questions like "dose any one in your family have an auto immune illness?" Maybe enough to discourage someone. Give it some thought. I could help put it together after the first of the year.

Patty

said it might be meaningless except to us.

I was just thinking when new women log on it could be another deterring factor like the personal stories.

I really have no reason to say anything here. I have not posted my story nor have I had my implants removed. I think you are doing a wonderful job and I should just stay out of this. I know you will make the right decision.

Thank you! I want to help if I can.

I realize, that I do not posses half of the knowledge with regard to implants that most people on this sight do. I also live by the age old rule that if you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. I have been trying to figure out where I fit in and how I can help. I, am sorry I have not shared my story yet I, am still coming to terms with everything. I promise I will post it soon. I just need more time.

Thank all of you so much for the information.

Kristy,

I actually didn't say it would be meaningless, but only that it wouldn't mean anything to anyone but us.

The reason is that it isn't actually a scientific poll--it would have a small and limited number of respondents that would not be a representative population sample. The bias would be toward those of us who have been harmed. However, it would be meaningful to those of us who are curious about the members of our own group, and how many of us have certain outcomes.

In this regard, I would entertain the creation of a poll for our group. I just need some input on what kind of questions you would like to see asked. For instance, we could ask how many had smooth implants vs. textured, how many had autoimmune disease diagnosis vs those who did not, we could find out what percentage of us have certain symptoms, etc.

By the way, thank you for bringing this up! It may be an interesting undertaking if we get enough respondents. I appreciate your offer of help. I think everyone can contribute with a question they would like to ask.

God bless.

It's true.....us women are much more harder on ourselves than guys are. We

are way more sensitive about the size of our breasts, our shape, our looks,

everything. I mean, yes, of course, guys like women to take care of

themselves and look good, but I don't think they get all that whacked out

about it. Gosh, when I think about the fact that my husband loved me and

married me with the breasts I had before implants, I KNOW he loved me for

who I was inside, and not my looks! And even now, after this nightmare and

having what I had before, but with more scars, sheesh..... yucko ....It is

just hard to remember that truth when we are looking at ourselves in the

mirror, don't like what we see, and wish we could do something about it.

Hi Patty,

Speaking from my acutuarial backgrround in the insurance industry, I would like to remind all women & their families, etc., that there is absolutely no validity to numbers of this type unless there are at least 1,000 respondents, to scientifically designed questions --- and, those numbers have very little validity until you have scientifically designed questions answered by at least 10,000 people, then they become more reliable at 100,000 respondents ..... and 500,000 to one million are much more reliable, and meaningful.

This is the reason I die laughing at the "Nuts & Sluts" studies(?)!!!

Those prove nothing whatsoever! And never will!

Blessings,

Martha Murdock / NSIF

Let's not waste time on meaningless questionairres when we have larger fish to fry!

Yet I will help with anything you need me do, however, not on compiling useless information. I don't mean this personally towards anyone, as few people have worked in the area of statistics that I have, and don't comprehend the science.

MM / NSOF
