Friends,

I thought this information might be useful to you, so I'm providing it to

you for your reference, now or in the future. If you would like to have the

attachments that I sent to Celeste, please email me, and I'll be happy to

forward them to you individually.

Dear Celeste,

I’m sorry to learn that your daughter is having such a difficult time

withdrawing from Zoloft. Here’s the information I promised. I hope you

will find it to be of help.

Withdrawal Guides:

1. http://www.benzo.org.uk/healy.htm

Dependence on Antidepressants & Halting SSRIs

PROTOCOL FOR THE WITHDRAWAL

OF SSRI ANTIDEPRESSANTS

by Dr Healy MD, FRCPsych

North Wales Department of Psychological Medicine,

Bangor, Gwynedd LL57 2PW, Wales, UK

2. http://www.seroxatusergroup.org.uk/Documents/DoctorPack.doc

A “Doctor’s Pack” with useful withdrawal information that includes

Healy’s protocol as well as a few other helpful documents is available from

the Seroxat (Paxil) user’s group in the United Kingdom. If you have any

trouble downloading this, let me know. I have a copy of this information

saved in my personal files.

3. Lehmann created a discussion group for those wanting to get off

psychiatric drugs. You can access the group from this link:

http://www.topica.com/lists/coming-off

Purpose: " Coming off psychiatric drugs " - an e-mail discussion list for

people who want to come off all kinds of psychiatric drugs (neuroleptics,

antidepressants, lithium, carbamazepine, psychostimulants and tranquilizers)

on their own decision, and want to end addiction, recover from withdrawal

syndromes and prevent once again ending up in the doctor’s office. And for

psychotherapists, physicians, social workers, psychiatrists, natural healers

and other professionals as well as friends and relatives helping withdraw.

Without proposing a single answer fits all situations, or people. Never

forget: All people are different, are individuals with different social

condition, personal history, cultural background, terminology, problems,

physical constitution, self-healing powers etc. Thank you.

The registration for this mailing list is free of charge.

4. http://www.peter-lehmann-publishing.com/withdraw.htm

From this link you can order a copy of Lehmann’s book with the same

title as his discussion group, “Coming Off Psychiatric Drugs”. I do not

have a copy of his book, so I’ve not read it and cannot provide you with a

personal recommendation; however, I admire and respect the work of this man.

5.

http://www.clinical-depression.co.uk/anti_depressants/withdrawal/venlafaxine.htm\

l

This is the withdrawal protocol developed by a man who wanted to help his

beloved wife withdraw from Effexor (Venlafaxine). I think you will be able

to identify with everything he has written. I have copied the following

statement from his introduction:

“These notes were prepared from action taken on a programme of venlafaxine

antidepressant reduction based originally on information taken from various

web sites. This allowed simple and effective elimination of venlafaxine

without withdrawal problems. This approach could be used for eliminating

other medication which builds dependency. Section 6 also gives details of

the complementary activities, which were followed to overcome the

depression, none of which were recommended by any of the medical staff

involved. Even when the non-medical recipe had clearly worked, the

consultant psychiatrist was still in denial with regard to the benefits of

the path we had chosen.”

6. http://members.aol.com/atracyphd/orderfrm.htm#withdraw

This is the link where you can order Dr Ann Blake-’s tape which

provides safe withdrawal guidelines. It’s called, “Help, I Can’t Get Off My

Antidepressant”. Her book, “Prozac – Panacea or Pandora” also offers

information on safe withdrawal and ordering information is available from

the link above.

7. Additional information on withdrawing from antidepressants by increasing

your levels of glutathione is available from the Prozac Truth site at this

link:

http://www.prozactruth.com/taper.htm

If you and your daughter wish to try this method, I can help you obtain

Immunocal at the wholesale price.

Doctor Lists:

It is best if you can find a competent medical professional to monitor your

daughter through her withdrawal. If you cannot find a qualified medical

professional in your city, perhaps one of the other listed doctors from the

following links might be able to provide you with a reference:

1. List from the Safe Harbor Organization – Just type in your city, state

and country.

http://www.alternativementalhealth.com/directory/search.asp

2. Directory of Innovative Physicians:

http://www.lef.org/doctors/directoryofdoctors02.html

Lawyers:

Because you and your daughter, like so many others, were not provided with

the information concerning the adverse reactions and withdrawal problems

associated with psychiatric drugs, you may wish to file a complaint and seek

legal redress. I am including some information that may be of help in this

area:

2. http://www.justiceseekers.com

3. http://www.antidepressant-drugs-and-suicide.com

Offices in Washington, DC, NYC, San Francisco, Beverly Hills & Nashville,

TN)

PS... I think it would be a good idea to print off some of this information

and deliver it to your physician who gave you incorrect information on how

to withdraw safely from Zoloft. I'm interested to know if she/he has

anything further to say...
