Guest guest
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have gotten many responses from Ilena's group in response to my sweating question. Unfortunately, no one has been given an answer, either, as to why this is happening. But I did want to share with everyone that many women suggested a medication which has helped them immensely. It is called Bellergal, and is a combination of 3 medications. It is an adrenergic blocker, or sympatholytic drug. This class of drugs reverses undesirable side effects of other drugs, and as a result stops severe sweating. I had my rheumy call it in today, and I just picked it up. I will take my first dose tonight. Most of these women said they had stopped sweating within 2 days. So, I will keep you all posted. e

Guest guest
e, Maybe this is your bodies way of getting rid of toxins and you should let it go? I don't know, maybe not, since I don't seem to sweat enough I always wondered about that, I can work out for an hour and a half and am barely wet, my husband says it is cause I am in good shape but I am starting to wonder if I am not getting enough toxins out now. HMMMMM well I drink a ton of water a day and I am telling you in spinning class I am the only one not dripping wet afterwards, I used to think this was a good thing, now I am not so sure...... Oh well, more to think about eh In @y..., eRene@a... wrote: > Just wanted to let everyone know that I have gotten many > responses from Ilena's group in response to my sweating > question. Guest guest
, What is the spinning class all about? I asked the local gym about it, and they said they didn't have it yet. As for sweating, it is definitely an important way for your body to rid itself of toxins, and in the 7 day detox program, hydrotherapy is used to induce sweating 2-3 times a day. Dr. Kolb, what do you think about the sweating issue? Should drugs be used to stop it? Thanks, Patty
Guest guest
, I am all for sweating and getting the toxins out of your body. However, I sweat 24/7. All of my tops have sweat stains on them and smell after I have them on for 10 " . It is not normal to be sweating sooooo much. Not to mention embarrassing and just a little bit of a turnoff to men. After all, who would want to date a woman who sweats more than he does????? At any rate, I think it's great to sweat and get everything out. But to sweat 24 hrs/day, 7 days a wk, even when I'm out in the cold air (Seattle is getting chilly at nights--in the mid 40's). I sweat with the A/C on in my car. I sweat in air conditioned buildings. I stick my head in the freezer, and I'm still sweating. So, my thinking is that if I take a few pills 1-2x/day, then I'll feel better physically and emotionally. e
Guest guest
I agree, sweating like that would drive me nuts! It's almost as if some wires are crossed in your body somewhere and the message for turning on the sweat glands are working way overtime! Hopefully the drugs will slow it down some, and not keep you from getting rid of the stuff that you need to. Guest guest
I don't know what causes the sweating but I suspect it is an intracellular infection. . ----- Original Message ----- From: Patty <fdp@...> < > Sent: Tuesday, October 02, 2001 6:42 PM Subject: Re: Re: Sweating > , > What is the spinning class all about? > > I asked the local gym about it, and they said they didn't have it yet. > > As for sweating, it is definitely an important way for your body to rid > itself of toxins, and in the 7 day detox program, hydrotherapy is used to > induce sweating 2-3 times a day. > > Dr. Kolb, what do you think about the sweating issue? Guest guest
Dr. Kolb, What do you mean by intracellular infection? I have been sweating ever since I had my implants placed (but never before). The sweating started off mildly, and I (and my docs) attributed it to some meds I was on. However, it has just worsened over the yrs, and has gotten particularly bad in the last 5-8 wks. I have always run a low grade fever ever since my implants, but I have also attributed that to my lupus and FMS. Any feedback/comments I sure would like to hear. e
