Guest guest
My daughter is now 12yo and has never seen a pediatrician. As far as I'm concerned their whole raison d'etre is to dispense vaccinations. She is now homeschooled, but has been in the school system in the past. Children who have been immunised at school seem to get these very illnesses. My dd has been exposed to them and has never gotten them herself - and she's never been vaccinated! Could be the result of many years of breastfeeding and she may have all of my immunities to protect her. Guest guest
Thanks Sheri. What do you do in an emergency situation? Isn't it wise to have a ped associated with a hospital in case you have to go to the emergency room? Anissa Sent from my iPhone

My ped is no-vax friendly but he's 1 hour away in the opposite direction of our hospital which is 5 minutes down the road. I guess technically if there was an emergency they could call him but I'm not sure what good it would do. I haven't taken to see him in over 2 years (we see a chiro once a week). We did have to go to an ER a while back ( was about 2 - he's never been vaxxed). DH overreacted to a cold and had me call an ambulance. All they did was ask if was up to date on his vaxxes - I said yes (earning a raised brown from DH) and that was that. I got some meds and we went home. I'm sure things would be similar if it was a broken arm or such. I must tell you I was terrified they would question me about vaxxing - I absolutely hate any kind of confrontations and at the time DH wasn't all that convinced about not vaxxing - but it went well. Just some thoughts...hope it helped. Magda

Guest guest
I could kind of recommend our ped if someone feels the need to see one. We are in Central Ohio. At our last well baby visit, the nurse said " And you don't vaccinate, right? " I said " Right. " She smiled and said, " Okay, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything! " I have never gotten any attitude or anything from them, and on the rare occasions I did take DD in, sick, they refused to prescribe drugs (not that I wanted them) and instead recommended nursing and home care. So, as allopaths go they are not bad. I can pass this information along privately if anyone is interested. Oh -- and we have a great chiropractor here too, very anti-vax and pro-natural-health, I get a lot of my info from him. His wife, also a chiropractor, has a Ph.D. in nutrition and we get a lot of stuff from her as well. While I'm at it we like our midwives too. They tested my iron levels today and decided I needed some spirulina. I love them for it, OBs just hand you a prescription for iron pills! --Kate Mommy to Rebekah, 1-26-08 Baby #2 due 7-26-09...it's a BOY! > > > Many have STOPPED seeing peds as the well baby visits are primarily > to vaccinate (take it from me, a former peds nurse) > And most parents are first to find a problem, not the ped. > > Once you decide you don't want vaccines, you also will discover you > won't want much else peds have to offer - meds, meds and more meds. > > Many have switched to Naturopaths, Homeopaths, Holistic MD's, or Chiropractors > > American Association of Naturopathic Physicians > 206-298-0126 > Referral number: 206-298-0125 > www.naturopathic.org > > American Holistic Medical Association > 703-556-9245 > www.holisticmedicine.org > > American Naturopathic Medical Association > 702-897-7053 > http://anma.net > > Holistic Pediatric Association > 707-237-5312 > http://www.hpakids.org > > Another source is the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association: > http://www.icpa4kids.org/locator/index.php > > If you're not sure about chiropractic and how it may help your child, > you can find answers here: > http://www.icpa4kids.org/why.htm > > > health care practitioner database on Mothering > > http://www.mothering.com/discussions/forumdisplay.php?f=167 > > and their forum > > http://www.mothering.com/discussions/forumdisplay.php?f=140 > Typing in your town, or nearest major city should get you some good info. > > > AP_Doctor_Referral/ > > > http://www.mothering.com/discussions/ > click on finding your tribe > > Holistic Moms Network > http://www.holisticmoms.org/ > click on " chapters' in the column on the right of the page > > Sheri > listowner >
Guest guest
Question on skipping well visits. What about the doctor checking the baby's soft spot, ears and eyes and hips? Off the top of my head, a few of the things that I am not sure what all they are able to detect but would not know how to check myself as there are not Naturopaths, Homeopaths or Holistic MDs that I can find in close proximity to me. ________________________________ From: Sheri Nakken <vaccinedangers@...> vaccinations Sent: Thursday, June 4, 2009 8:58:44 PM Subject: Finding doctors/other practitioners Many have STOPPED seeing peds as the well baby visits are primarily to vaccinate (take it from me, a former peds nurse) And most parents are first to find a problem, not the ped. Guest guest
Go to http://www.icpa4kids.org/locator/index.php and look for a chiropractor that treats kids. A good chiro will be able to spot things, and if they are unable to manage it, will tell you to get to a doctor. My chiro checks eyes, hips. etc. as part of his diagnosis before each adjustment. He knows my baby almost as well as me and is always the first person I run to if I'm having any trouble with my kiddos, unless it's the middle of the night or a crisis. He is truly my " primary care " doc... not just for my kids, but for me, too. Guest guest
In hindsight, I would not be worried about those things. The likelihood of being talked into vaccines is much higher than problems in those areas. And if there are problems, a parent should notice. I have found the peds to be virtually useless in the important areas, such as nutrition, breastfeeding, digestive issues and sleep problems--areas that warrant the most concern. It's a crapshoot as to whether they have good advice, even those with children of their own. Guest guest
Yes I agree. Even today when I sat in the waiting room of Pediatric MD I was astonished at all the kids coming in for asthma and allergy related issues. Hmmmm could vaccines be creating lifelong patients? Guest guest
Also see the National Center for Homeopathy. There is no resource here for homeopaths, although you list it as who to see. I've asked why you leave that out on various forums and never heard back. Not everyone there practices exactly the way you do, but no reason to leave out the largest directory of the country's homeopaths - there are many, many excellent practitioners there. Other wonderful homeopaths are not listed of course...but for general information to a large group like this, it's a great resource to perhaps find just who someone needs. AP doctor referral group is for attachment parenting...mostly referring each other to AP friendly pediatricians. Mothering site is a daunting, even impossible exercise to find a homeopath. So a listing that brings abundant possibilities is much more helpful. When deciding upon a homeopath, or any practitioner, the key is knowing which questions to ask, and feel it's a good fit. Guest guest
At 08:35 PM 11/7/2009, you wrote: Also see the National Center for Homeopathy. There is no resource here for homeopaths, although you list it as who to see. I've asked why you leave that out on various forums and never heard back. I didn't see you ask that. I'm sorry you are distressed with me Liz It is an easy answer - I have no way to guarantee the quality of any person listed there. anyone can be listed there. I have referred vaccine injured and others to homeopaths (from emails I receive and on the email lists I moderate and participate in) since the late 90's . I have referred hundreds of people and believe-you-me, it has not been a pretty picture. Over and over I saw people who call themselves homeopaths, not even following homeopathic principles in their treatment. I saw people worse than when they went, or dangling for a month on a dry potency with aggravations or no results, people being told now that their child is healed they can go ahead and vaccinate (and from famous so-called classical homeopaths) -- people wasting their money at best and further injured or suffering at worst. So I now only refer to homeopaths who I am fairly sure follow the laws and principles (and I can never be totally sure as I am not there for every consultation - I can only go on what the person tells me on how they practice and recommendations for others) Being on a NCH list guarantees nothing. Being on a classical homeopath's list (Steve Waldstein's which I managed and updated for many many years) guarantees nothing, even being CCH (certification of classical homeopathy) certified guarantees nothing. There may be excellent people there but I have no way of sorting the wheat from the chaff. To find a quality person on that list is like finding a needle in a haystack. I would not use it for myself and so would not refer someone to it to find a quality homeopath. People don't have thousands of free dollars to try one and then another - nor do they have time or energy and it is not safe. So, again, I only refer to a short list of homeopaths who I know to practice according the laws and principles as laid down in the 5th and 6th edition of the Organon. AP doctor referral group is for attachment parenting...mostly referring each other to AP friendly pediatricians. Mothering site is a daunting, even impossible exercise to find a homeopath. I didn't say they would find a homeopath there - I posted the below resources so people could find any of the other types of alternative practitioners. I see I also need to add to contact me privately for homeopath recommendations. (thanks for bringing my attention to the fact that I don't even have homeopaths on there) So a listing that brings abundant possibilities is much more helpful. When deciding upon a homeopath, or any practitioner, the key is knowing which questions to ask, and feel it's a good fit. Liz Yes, I have those questions for people and they ask those questions and get the right answers and then get less than quality treatment even from the famous homeopaths. If anyone wants information on possible homeopaths that practice following 5th & 6th edition of the organon (the way Hahnemann practiced in his later years), please email me now. Some homeopaths will do phone/webcam/video treatment from a distance. Thanks and I will be modifying the list that I send out to include emailing me if you want to find a homeopath Sheri > > > Many have STOPPED seeing peds as the well baby visits are primarily > to vaccinate (take it from me, a former peds nurse) > And most parents are first to find a problem, not the ped.
