Table 50-3. American College of Rheumatology Criteria for the

Classification of Systemic Lupus Erythematosis:

For systemic lupus erythematosis to be classified at least four of the

following are required:

-Malar rash

-Discoid rash

-Photosensitivity

-Oral ulcers

-Arthritis

-Serositis

-Renal disorder

-Leukopenia (<4,000 /ul), lyphopenia (<1500 /ul), hemolytic anema or

thrombocytopenia (100,000 /ul).

-Neurologic disorder

-Anti-DNA antibody, anti-SM antibody, or evidence of antiphospholipid

antibody [by any one of several assays]

-Antinuclear antibodies in raised titer
