Guest guest
Just got this email from the Big Bluff ranch and thought others might be interested- ------------ Hello, It is time for another quick note from us here at Big Bluff Ranch. We are extremely pleased/surprised/thrilled at the reception our meat has had. We are in the happy state of having more demand than supply. The articles in the NY Times and the Chronicle have caused this demand. They were good articles that really highlighted why grass-fed is better. In fact, we were sort of mentioned in the Chronicle article. It listed stores that sold grass-fed meats, and the store in which our meat is sold was mentioned. So we are semi-famous, but we won't charge you more for it. Rest assured, we still have enough meat to keep you carnivores happy. Here are some highlights of our operation that you should be interested in. Beef - We just sent another four animals to be harvested. So in three weeks, we will be fully stocked once again. If anyone is interested in a split half or half, then call us and we can arrange for some custom butchering. Chevre - OK, this is just the French word for goat. We do have animals ready for harvest. The meat has a sweet mild flavor that is truly delicious. If you're a daring gourmand, then you shouldn't pass up this opportunity to try the meat that most of the world prefers. Lamb - We have lambs for sale now. These lambs have been bought from a known source and will be chock full of flavor and goodness. Both the chevre and lamb supply is limited. It is sold in half(~15lbs) or whole(~30lbs) sizes. Lamb costs $8/lb for a whole or $9/lb for a half. Goat costs $7/lb for a whole or $8/lb for a half. If you would like some, you need to let us know as soon as possible. First come, first serve. Sacramento Area - Tyler is attending the Sacramento Farmer's Market (8th and W) every Sunday this summer. It is a great place to get some veggies and some beef. He would love to see anyone who has any questions that he can answer (Please, no hard questions, he might not know the answer and feel embarrassed). Bay Area - We have been supplying one of the health food stores regularly. Call the store to make sure they are stock. But if they are empty, they won't be for long. The store is in Alameda and is called HealthIS (1347 Park, phone 510-865-1500). This store is selling our meat to get more customers in the door, so let them know that you came for our meat, and pick up some other goodies while you are there. A quick note on bargain buying of our meat from any location: when you buy from the store or Farmer's Market you are buying at retail prices, but if you buy slightly larger quantities (minimum 15lbs, which fits in one paper grocery bag) you buy at wholesale prices, and can save some big bucks. You must call us for the wholesale packages. As usual, feel free to call, email, or shout, we like all sorts of communication, Tyler, , and Vicky 530-529-2291 __________________________________________________

Definitely more than I'm prepared to pay. I'd really like to get some goat though, so if anyone has any sources in the SF Bay Area please tell me! Goat is sold in some of the Mexican groceries around San , but I've encountered language problems around trying to verify if it's pastured or not. __________________________________________________
