All you people who have been hurt out there ~ start telling

your story to anybody who will listen. Sit down, write a letter describing

the torture you have undergone. Leave names out. Make a copy of your

letter in your drafts folder. Include one picture if you can. Then, every

time you need to tell your story, you can quickly cut and paste it into

an email. Let's start with these two places where your story

can be heard.

Don't just tell us - tell EVERYBODY.

Have you been seriously harmed by a health scam?

If so, please write to victims@... describing what happened.

Hey, tell the FDA directly! Here's

Jamo, you said:

<<Have you been seriously harmed by a health scam?

This is the kind of impulsive, unplanned act of which I speak.

Let me tell you what happens to all complaints of this type -

they get distributed to other members of Quackwatch who

have websites. They are then published on their websites and

in their online group and systematically mocked and torn apart.

I don't think people need this.

Here is a statement made by the American Council on Science and

Health (ACSH), a " consumer education consortium " begun in the 1980's

by Barrett, M.D., retired psychiatrist and owner of Quackwatch.

ACSH is also tied in to National Council Against Health Fraud, yet another

Barrett project. ACSH has a page where they honor or pan 60 Minutes

segments. The segment " What About Prozac? " :gets " honorable mention " for

criticizing Scientology for it's work to expose Prozac:

" What About Prozac? " (1991) focused on the Church of Scientology's

campaign to have the antidepressant Prozac banned. According to

Stahl, the Church maintained that Prozac " causes a violent need to

kill and be killed. " The segment showed that the this claim is unfounded.

www.acsh.org

BTW, ACSH funds itself through donations from over 300 pharmaceutical,

chemical, and food manufacturers.

Here is the bio of Barrett, the owner of QuackWatch:

Barrett, M.D., a retired psychiatrist who resides in town,

Pennsylvania, has achieved national renown as an author, editor, and

consumer advocate. In addition to heading Quackwatch, he is vice-president

and of the National Council Against Health Fraud, a scientific advisor to

the American Council on Science and Health, and a Fellow of the Committee

for

the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP). In 1984,

he received an FDA Commissioner's Special Citation Award for Public Service

i

n fighting nutrition quackery. In 1986, he was awarded honorary membership

in

the American Dietetic Association. From 1987 through 1989, he taught health

education at The Pennsylvania State University. He is listed in Marquis

Who's

Who in America and received the 2001 Distinguished Service to Health

Education Award from the American Association for Health Education.

An expert in medical communications, Dr. Barrett operates six Web sites;

edits Consumer Health Digest (a weekly electronic newsletter); writes

weekly columns for Canoe.ca and Health Scout; is medical editor of

Prometheus Books; and is a peer-review panelist for several top medical

journals. His 49 books include The Health Robbers: A Close Look at

Quackery in America and six editions of the college textbook Consumer

Health: A Guide to Intelligent Decisions. One book he edited, Vitamins

and Minerals: Help or Harm?, by Marshall, Ph.D., won the

American Medical Writers Association award for best book of 1983

for the general public and became a special publication of Consumer

Reports Books. His other classics include Dubious Cancer Treatment,

published by the Florida Division of the American Cancer Society;

Health Schemes, Scams, and Frauds, published by Consumer Reports

Books; The Vitamin Pushers: How the " Health Food " Industry Is

Selling America a Bill of Goods, published by Prometheus Books;

and Reader's Guide to " Alternative " Health Methods, published by

the American Medical Association.

Make no mistake - QuackWatch, Quackbusters, National Council Against

Health Fraud, American Council on Science and Health, HealthWatcher,

QuackFiles and all other similarly named groups and websites are very

powerful enemies. The Boards of Directors and Scientific Advisors from the

ACSH reads

like a Who's Who AND law. For a real treat, read their latest book in PDF

format:

I'll stop rambling now. Sorry...these groups burn me up.

Glitter, , everyone ~

The truth has done such a SUPERB job of documenting MUST be

heeded. Glitter's observations are no joke, they are true, it is here,

we are LIVING the effects of it. THOUGHTFUL WISDOM IS DEMANDED HERE

IN ANY EFFORTS WE PLAN TO UNDERTAKE. I will NEVER quit telling all of

you here I KNOW FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE - WE ARE FIGHTING FOES WITH

SUCH INCREDIBLE POWER AND LONG TENACLES THAT THEY VIRTUALLY CONTROL

EVERYTHING! The group I am affiliated with is ready to drop dead - has

the REAL goods, scientifically replicable truth, about the dangers of

our drug - BUUUUTTT - ALMOST WITHOUT EXCEPTION, EVERYONE WHO IS IN A

POSITION TO HELP US IS EITHER AFRAID TO WHISTLE BLOW, GET INVOLVED OR

JUST PLAIN DON'T GIVE A CHIT. It is unfathomable to me to know that

the so many involved with these drugs know what they know, are in a

position to do something about it, and won't - THEY have the ability

to sleep at night! Sooo, it is the PEOPLE we must reach - look at them

all on the petition! Even those who haven't experienced the horror

behind these drugs, when they hear it, see it, taste it, imagine the

horror behind it's DOCUMENTED truth and facts ~ THEY, THE PEOPLE ~

Dear ,

Thank you for the low down on these groups... I would have never imagined from whence these groups sprang... It is enough for me to know that they are funded by the pharmaceutical firms to develop a healthy mistrust of them....
