Guest guest
Okay, I'm really sorry, but you are very rude. I am an intern student at a residential substance abuse recovery clinic. The reason why I joined this list is because I strongly feel that SSRI medications cause more harm than good and wanted to educate myself more on this topic. I am new to the field of mental health and thought this list would be a good source to gain knowledge and information on this topic. Was I wrong? Maybe I joined the wrong list. I thought people on group lists were suppose to share information and educate each other. I guess I thought I was on a list with a group of professionals to consult with, but I guess not. Your comments to both of my posts have been very offending. Is there a reason why you are such a bitter person? I graduate in December with a Master's degree in LPC. No, I don't have the answers to everything! I'M NEW TO THE FIELD OF MENTAL HEALTH!!! What good are group lists that focus on a specific topic if reliable information is not available? Was I wrong in hoping to get some questions answered from this list? I guess so....based on your friendly comments! Gab

Guest guest
Terry, I did not conduct a valid and reliable research on how many people have mental illness. I simply threw out 98 percent as a number based on my mental calculations of how many people have confessed having some form of mental health issues once they found out I was a therapist. Am I off a bit? Maybe....this is not being published in a medical journal so I didn't think that my estimation was so crucial to be exact. Guest guest
Gabdud: This sounds like one of those " I have a friend who has a problem...it's not me...it's my friend! " type of stories. What do you mean " you " have a patient? Are you a doctor or therapist? This is certainly not the place to receive medical advice - we are not doctors or licensed therapists (for the most part...and those of us who are do not practice their profession in this venue). We are a network of people who have been negatively impacted by depression and related " illnesses " , psychotropic drugs, suicidality and homicidality, etc. We share our stories, experiences, information, etc. If you need advice or need to know resources because YOU have been taking Serizone, YOU are about to start anger management classes, and YOUR family says you are hard to live with...then this might be the right place for you. And I'd really like to see you find out what you need to know. However, if you are under 18, please get one of your parents to look into this stuff with you...it's really unbelievable and if you have been under the effects of any psychotropic drugs - you will need help getting off. The side effects are unreal...just check out the many, many, many previous posts. My son was one of the people they thought needed " anger management " classes...so I do understand something about what you're saying...I just don't think you are coming clean with who you are or how old you are and that would be the first thing ou would need to do. The first place I got suspicious was when you said " 98% " of the people you meet are mentally ill. I recognize that as a typical teen-aged way of pointing out that a huge number people out there are on some type of psych drug and you're right. You might as well have said " The numbers are gi-normous! " Terry P.S. If you are instead someone trawling around looking for kicks and seeing what kind of a response you can get with made up questions...get lost. Guest guest
" Serzone and Liver Failure New reports of deaths and severe injuries from liver failure in patients taking the antidepressant Serzone (nefazodone) require that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) act immediately to protect U.S. patients, Public Citizen said on October 29, 2003. Public Citizen submitted a supplement containing new data to its March 2003 petition requesting the withdrawal of this uniquely dangerous drug from the market. Guest guest
Which of us is rude? Your post said that " both " of the offender's previous posts were rude...I'd just like to know if you were offended by what I said.
