Dear ,

I have some ?s for Robin. I've put the blow marked by **

Robin reported these symptoms:

-- As you all know this pain in center between shoulder blades

** When did it begin?

** Was there a precipitating event?

** Were you still taking drugs then? If not, how long had you been

off them?

-- it is an inflamed, tearing, pinching pain that can be absolutely horrible

** When is it worse? What makes it worse? When is it better?

What makes it better?

-- Like a hot poker at times even.

-- It even makes all of the muscles in the back of my head/neck tight.

-- Last night I think I only slept about 5 hours and flat on my back.

-- When I would doze off, my head would turn to a more comfortable

position my neck would hurt and the pain would wake me up.

-- I've got the lightheadness

-- this is taking up a lot of my time and energy every day.

-- chiropractor, have been going for the past year and a half.

feel ok for about a day, and wham the pain is back.

-- the pain makes my head really fuzzy.

-- There's nothing showing on the x-rays,

-- doc thinks it's an inflammation of the muscles

He suggested physical therapy with ultrasound treatments and

massage which I'm already getting from the chiropractor.

-- It's becoming totally debilitating

-- starting to walk around like an old woman.

-- I'm having a hard time driving,

-- I've tried the more " natural " route, but it's not really helping either.

** What exactly did you do?

-- the doc said that the curvature of my spine in the neck area

is too straight and is causing muscle spasms in the neck.

-- the chiropractor says I look great.

** Does it affect your breathing? If so, how?

** Are you sensitive to sound? To voices AND other sounds, or

just sounds other than voices?

** Does your throat ever hurt?

I think I know what is needed. I want to be certain. These questions

clarify it.

Thanks,

**Sounds like a perfect case of a focal dystonia to me ~

to the " t " . Dystonia is very, very often overlooked and is

side effect of these flipping meds.It was considered an orphan disease

for years due to the fact that it was an inherited disorder, or so

thought to be...Since the advent of neuroleptics, dystonia/dyskinesia

are a common place attendant side effect of these class of drugs. The

ADs do it, too. It is sustained muscular contractions that hurt like

h.ll...I know, I have it.

She needs to see a neuro who knows dystonia - few and far between, but

an absolute must to find out. They offer many drugs,

the safest of which I consider to be diazepam, not the other really

strong ones...they are using botox injections, which is a botulism

poison, believe it or not, that does the trick for some people for a

while, but I wouldn't even try it myself...they don't know what the

long term effects will be and it wears off after a time for many.

, if it makes sense to her, go ahead and forward her email to me

and I can send her some info on it...

The muscle spasms are the key...this condition is horrendously

misdiagnosed for many people ~ takes years before many are finally

diagnosed...

Dear Suzy,

Probably. It's not always easy to find the proper one at a distance.

It is even less easy to administer it to someone in 's position.

Does communicate with you via USPS or email?

If you want to give me an overview, I'll come back to you with

some questions.

Regards,

Dear ,

We communicate by phone, when he is allowed to call or by stamp on the

envelope.

He took Prozac at up to 20 mg for 2 years, then Prozac (20 mg) and Depakote

(?mg) for another year. After he stopped, he experienced what he thought

would be short term withdrawal symptoms - the usual zaps etc. But, now over

a year and one half later, he still experiences what you have seen on the

logs.

Sincerely,

Suzy
