Your website is very nice but I couldn't find any studies. Contacted our

medical Librarian and she could not find any studies in the medical

literature. It was a quick search so she may have missed something. Could you

direct me to some medical journals? KathyR

The 4Life Transfer Factor product is extracted from colostrum...and

is pure..

All the large proteins likely to cause allergic reactions have been

removed. It has been proven safe even in extremely large doses....

Kathy,

Here is a link to a study on Transfer Factor's ability to increase

Natural killer cell activity.

http://www.transferfactor.com/study.html

I've also attached some research abstracts as a PDF file...

If it doesn't come through on the list I'll be happy to email it to

you privately...

4 Life's Transfer Factor is nothing more than colostrum. Basically,

they trade-marked the name but it should not be confused with the

transfer factor that Hugh Fudenberg developed from human blood and

used to successfully mainstream a group of autistic kids. Fudenberg

and staff's process was enormously complicated and expensive -- a

grant of $4,000,000+ was used to treat approximately 20 children.

The transfer factor for each child was custom developed to address

the immune issues that each child faced; i.e., EBV, HHV6, etc. 4-

Life cites Fudenberg's results as if they were achieved using their

product. This is promotional mis-respresentation at its worst.

Fudenberg has had nothing to do with the development of 4-Life's

products, and according to friends who know him, has stated that 4-

Life's transfer factor is nothing more than colostrum.

For those that are interested in Fudenberg's work, I have listed the

related abstract below. Most of you will find it interesting and

encouraging that Vijendra Singh who is on the board worked with

Fudenberg on the transfer factor research.

Dialysable lymphocyte extract (DLyE) in infantile onset autism: a

pilot study.

Fudenberg HH

Neurolmmuno Therapeutics Research Foundation Spartanburg, S.C., USA.

40 infantile autistic patients were studied. They ranged from 6 years

to 15 years of age at entry. 22 were cases of classical infantile

autism; whereas 18 lacked one or more clinical defects associated

with infantile autism ( " pseudo-autism " ). Of the 22 with classic

autism, 21 responded to transfer factor (TF) treatment by gaining at

least 2 points in symptoms severity score average (SSSA); and 10

became normal in that they were main-streamed in school and clinical

characteristics were fully normalized. Of the 18 remaining, 4

responded to TF, some to other therapies. After cessation of TF

therapy, 5 in the autistic group and 3 of the pseudo-autistic group

regressed, but they did not drop as low as baseline levels.

Dr. Fudenberg in Spartanburg SC is using it. Here is the link to his site.

I spoke with him yesterday--a very nice man, but his protocol and time is

very expensive. He is only seeing families with two or more immediate family

members with autism type disorders. He charges 750.00 an hour, visits are at

least three hours, and this doesn't include the cost for the antigen specific

transfer factors.

He is also the only person I've spoken with that addresses the kids with

elevated NK cells as opposed to suppressed ones--my sons both have

hyperimmune systems.

Some of Fudenberg's assistants have gone out on their own and are

trying to modify the development of Transfer Factor using non-human

blood and administering the Transfer Factor orally. This version of

Transfer Factor has specifically developed antigens for EBV, HHV6,

measles, etc. The new products are in limited trials with some

autistic patients. My understanding is a couple kids normalized

(lost their autistic/PDD label) after several months, others did not.

Current thinking seems to be that if mercury or other heavy metals

are a problem, they have to be taken care of first before using

Transfer Factor as heavy metals can severly weaken the immune

system. This process will help improve some kids immune profile

alone. Conversely, if heavy metals are a current problem, treating

with Transfer Factor, anti-virals, etc. may be ineffective.

There are tests that can be done for heavy metals. I believe hair

testing is not particulary effective. For more info, you can check

Ron:

That may be so, but colostrum is milk nonetheless. I was warned about this

by a pediatrician. Dairy is the worse thing we can feed our children.

But if this has been your answer, so be it. And Good Luck.

Sincerely,

Michele D.

I just heard that the Transfer Factor from Chrisholms Labs was much

better than the 4-Life brand, stronger and better absorbing. Has

anyone tried it?

Has anyone tried Transfer Factor Plus. On the bottle it says to take 2 a day. I was wondering if you could take 3?

I have taken the Transfer Factor Plus. I can't say that I have noticed any significant positive effects from it.

I wouldn't take more than the recommended amount. It is a bit pricey to begin with, but if they recommend 2 a day, then I would suggest sticking with that. I go by this guideline with almost all my supplements.

I have noticed a significant benefit lately from taking N-Acetyl-Cysteine, along with L-Taurine, Glycine, alpha lipoic acid and selenium. NAC is a precursor to glutathione production, and glutathione is probably one of the most important anti-oxidants that your body produces. It is used by the liver in the Phase II detoxification pathway.

I've been taking it for over 2 weeks now, and the change has been outstanding. I ended up staying up way later than I should have several nights in a row, and having tons of energy. I have not noticed any major brain fog, except for when I stayed up too late, and that was my own fault. My brain fog has been pretty much gone for good, and that makes me really happy.

The other change I made was to exchange the flax oil (Udo's) for borage oil and fish oil. I think that also helped make a difference.

Hi Suz,

Welcome!

I have heard of and used Transfer Factor at one time in my illness. It is listed on the Silicone protocol that Dr. Kolb developed. The one thing that I do remember about Transfer Factor was the cost...it is not cheap. But, apparently it can offer some benefits to those of us with immune system illnesses.

I did not notice any beneficial effect from taking the two bottles that I had bought. It may have been that I did not take it long enough to notice a positive result. I did see that the website suggested it takes a couple months to see results.

But that happened with alot of supplements I took! I eventually gave up on many supplements because I did not see the beneficial results that I had expected. Of course, when we are as sick as we are, we have high expectations.....sometimes too high, and it is easy to become disillusioned with a supplement before giving it a fair shake.

For anyone who is interested in this product, here is a good discussion of it.

http://transferfactor.tripod.com/

Certainly, it is included on the Silicone Protocol for a reason...has anyone else taken this with positive results?

Suz, however, I do want to offer my two cents on your situation with the numbness. I personally believe that the neurological symptoms we are experiencing are a result of heavy metal toxicity, and not specifically an immune system deficiency such as that which is targeted with theTransfer Factor product.

The heavy metals may be there because they are used as a catalyst in the manufacture of our breast implant shells, and perhaps they are leeched out of the implant shell or there is a break down of the shell which allows our toxic load to go off the charts.....

With heavy metals, the effort has to be on detoxification....sweating it out, fasting, exercising, juicing, enemas.....taking measures to force the body to give up its toxins, rather than let them sit inside of our cells doing their damage. Detoxification is much more involved that immune system strengthening with supplements, because it requires mental stamina and tenacity to go that extra mile. I hope this doesn't make you feel hopeless, but rather hopeful! All of those neurological symptoms I experienced are gone, gone, gone...the tingling, twitching, numbness, crawly feelings, and finally, the brain fog. It took the better part of 4 years.

Let us know if you need more answers. You can get better with a focused approach to your healing.

Any one heard of this ? Transfer Factor. It used to be only in injection and now it is in capsule form. They say it is just as good.

Beth with the numb leg, I have a numb right leg this just happened within the last two weeks.

Do you know anything about it does anyone? I have had a numb right big toe for a long time. I went to an endocrinologist cause I thought it was diabetes related. He said no it was neurological. So I asked my neurologist about it. He did not answer but asked me if anyone had ever told me I had carpel tunnel ? We started talking about other things and I forgot about the toe. Now the leg is numb what is going on ? Anyone .
