I found this on the AAP's website (it was an actual link on the home

page!). Just who do they think they are? Gods? Where exactly does

the Constitution fit in their agenda? I will provide the direct link

and the shorter version in case the first does not work.

That did irritate me... but at least they included these tidbits:

" Four percent of pediatricians had refused permission for an immunization

for their

own children younger than 11 years. "

" Vaccines are very safe, but they are not risk free; nor are they 100%

effective.22 " (Okay, so they're using their unique definition of " safe " but

other than that, at least they acknowledge they're not totally effective or

risk free)

" In general, pediatricians should avoid discharging patients from their

practices solely because a parent refuses to immunize his or her child. " (A

good one to cite for a doc who is doing this)

Our doc didn't bat an eye. I handed him our blue card religious exemption

and we had a chat about how he'd never seen one before and he wanted to know

why it was offered. Didn't once try to talk me out of it. After that he

took a look at her eyes, ears, nose, mouth, inquired as to her physical and

psychological development, was satisfied as to her health and said come back

for the 4 month well checkup. Nice and simple.

That piece of scientifically nonsensical garbage contains so many

conflicting statements, even a first-year law student would be able to shred

it to pieces.

I think a well crafted letter to the editor is in order. We should list our concerns and then as a group send the letter.

If nothing else, this could stimulate a good idscussion.

The part that irritated me was that the AAP was asking doctors to

call on Child Protective Services if the parent " does not comply "

with recommended treatment (vaccines). What is next? Massachusetts

is already going after a mother for failing to follow through with

chemo (she is seeking alternative care) for her child who is already

autistic aka vaccine injured!! This is turning into a dictatorship

very quickly and if parents across the country do not wake up real

fast - it will end up that way.

Yes, it will end up that way. Rights are slipping.

I was afraid of getting in trouble for protecting my child, that is

why I hunted down an open minded pedi. They can be hard to find.
