Guest guest Posted January 19, 2009 Report Share Posted January 19, 2009 This is very OT... so if it get's approved, you can just respond to me directly if you have any help My son just had his first dental appointment today and we are going to have to have a few extractions set for next week. They want to give him some valium-like medicine before they give him the anaesthesia (he's too young to have the removals done while awake) that is meant to make him very tired and calm, and create an amnesia effect. Does anyone have any idea if there are herbs he can take instead that will do the same thing? I'm very apprehensive about man-made drugs, while I know that herbs are drugs also, I trust nature more than I trust man lol. They said they don't have to give him the valium-like drug but that they would hold him down while they gave him the anaesthesia which is counter-product because we're doing the GA to minimize the trauma so I'd like to give him something else instead. That's what my daughter did (she lives in California). It is unusual that a dentist would recommend extracting baby teeth (how old is your son?) Two years ago,my grandson needed some fillings (he was four at the time), my daughter phoned and visited several dental offices and those who subjected the child to restraints (which I consider barbaric and traumatic for a child) and did not allow the parent to be present were stricken from her list. She then had a discussion with a dentist in Palm Springs who flatly denied that his young patients ever had any side effects from IV sedation or that any fatalities had occurred with the agent they are using, whereupon my daughter handed him a research paper, confirming that, for instance, IV sedation in dental offices was banned in Scotland and other European countries and that precisely that particular agent had already caused fatalities and was likewise banned for children younger than 16 years! She finally found a Chinese pediatric dentist in Irvine, who uses some sort of syrup (I have forgotten the name, but according to my daughter, who researched the stuff has no adverse side effects.) She point blank told all these guys that her child is unvaccinated and won't allow his brain to be scrambled by stuff that is banned in other countries. He used to grind his teeth and they ended up completely disintegrating, they're about 1/3 the size they used to be, they are completely black, dead and are abscessing and causing nasal congestion so that his nose is always stuffed and is difficult for him to breathe during the night. They are the front teeth... doing anything else other than removing would be very pointless, more dangerous/toxic and traumatic. Extraction under GA is the best option.
