I don't know about starting periods while on treatment...I had all that

unnecessary equipment removed years ago.

But I do know that if her platelets drop to 50, she needs to go to half doses of

treatment. I just went through this myself and struggled to bring my platelets

up...added Vit. K, increased my calcium, B Complex and folic acid. Brought them

up enough to not get my treatment cut in half.

Now if I could only help my bone marrow create red blood cellls.

She is 58 years old and

post-menopausal. Since she started treatment she has been menstruating

spottily for the past 3 weeks. Her platelet counts are very low (55 I

think). Does anyone know of anyone starting periods on treatment and could

the low platelets have anything to do with it.

Pam-

It could be the low platelets. If she has uterine polyps, they also can

cause bleeding-especially with low platelet count.
