Guest guest
Hullo . I dont know how many of these duplicate and triplicate emails your are talking about. There is a problem with some people who dont have their email option set to NOT including the original post, when they use the Reply (to post) without changing the Subject Line Title. Some of the posts, I have noticed, can contain up to 5 or 6 old posts in the body of each of their new forwarded posts. Some post titles have been known to go back and forth for weeks, even after the orginial post material has been exhausted or long forgot. So some subject titles are just being used for their next forward to the group, and it does get confusing. So I think if you open a few different ones, you will see they are a different adendum to some original post. And you may then notice, that a same titled post is coming in from different members. You can check out that theory and see if that is what is going on. When they dont change the Subject title, but have changed the subject, it can get even more confusing. So KIDS, change the Subject title often to reflect your post. And also see if you can set up your email to NOT include the previous post/s unless your are responding to a particular one. And KEEP Putting OT in the Subject lines, and what it is about, so people can pass those over if they are not of interest to the group theme. If you need help to reset your mail option, look under the HELP. Some people do like to keep the old posts attached when they reply tho. I know the duplicate *posts within a post*, are exhaustive to the amount of space they use, and make it almost impossible to look up old posts, or for new members to try to amble thru the archieved back posts. Altho we have grown in membership by leaps and bounds, to well over 700, there are still only a few dozen people or so who regularly post. LOL like me! Can you imagine if all 700+ of us decided to post on the SAME DAY!!! oh my Then, imagine if they all had the same subject title. YIKES. may crash HA. If you are getting more than one copy of the very exact same post, then you may have a problem with email. (Ocassionally some may actually hit the Reply button by mistake _ before they type what they intended. Maybe their cat hit the forward key?) Noone else has mentioned so far about getting duplicate posts, altho has been known to have problems on their end, whereas this can happen temporarily from time to time, but that would affect all our emails going out in duplicate or triplicate or more. Hope this helps. We have more problems with breaking up the links we try to send. They are real good at doing THAT! Guest guest
When one replies to a post the post you reply to is incorporated into your post ..... if everyone would simply delete that part of the post we wouldn't have such endless scrolling to do. I hope I've explained that well. It doesn't fix the problem with folks who don't have their email set appropriately but it would help when folks reply online. I'm tired of all the repeating too. Guest guest
Can anyone instruct me on how to withdraw from this group emails? I do enjoy the great information, but all the emails have made it difficult to sort through my email. I just don't have time to read all. Thank you, e McDowell Re: is there any way we can create a better way.....
