Guest guest
Darn... I feel bad for you.. Really... Can you go to an ER. for help?? It is an unfortunate fact of life that Social Security will deny you if able.. Without a doctor who is willing to say you are disabled you are in a bad place.. Maybe the thing you have to do is go from ER to ER until you find a sympathetic doctor, who is willing to help... One thing that will be really hard but you have to do is present a mild mannered approach that gathers sympathy... Gosh, I hope you get help.. : ( T In a message dated 2/23/2010 11:49:26 A.M. But my wife has suffered from daily headaches and migraines since her teens. She is now 44. Very recently we went to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia to their headache clinic. We had hoped for some relief there, but so far all they did was manage to put her into a migraine cycle. We've been to many ER's where she usually get's a Morphine and other med cocktail to break the level 9-10 pain down to a 6. We've been to ER's in several states. Mostly we are treated well, but sometimes she is treated like a drug seeker and they won't give her what is needed to break the pain. You also usually sit there for 3-9 hours. We have now found a sympathetic family doctor who provides the morphine injections for about $250 vs $2000 in the ER! He also sees her in a few hours. So please keep looking. We are going to Hopkins Headache Clinic in Baltimore in April. They are supposed to be one of the best. We will see. Good luck, hang in there. You are among friends who understand pain. Guest guest
Its still disgusting tht the doc charges you 250 bucks for a med that costs him 10....Dave...I wonder if you could arrange for a home care RN to administer these shots....the cost of a skilled RN visit is less then 100 dollars and the med is about 10-20......home care agencies always have RN's on call,....of even better.....why dont you just ask to be taught to give the IM injection yourself and get a script for the morphine.... Even better and more economical,,,,see if the doc will give her a script for 3 or 4 fentanyl lozenges per month that she can use at home....and if necessary zofran for nausea I used to have horrendous migraines.....I always had nausea meds and DHE injections that could be given at home How have you been since your surgery Dave?
